Wildlife enthusiasts do not need to carry heavy backpacks to travel to inaccessible places on our planet. It is enough to create a flowering meadow on your summer cottage, breaking a flower bed, similar to a corner of nature untouched by man

To create a wilderness corner on a summer cottage, it is not at all necessary to go with a shovel and a bucket outside the outskirts in order to dig up wild plants with roots and transplant them into your garden. For such a corner, well-known cultivated ornamental plants are quite suitable for us.

The whole "trick" of creating a wilderness corner is the correct selection of plant species and a harmonious layout of the corner. You can choose a "combined" area, part of which is open to the sun's rays, and the other part is in the partial shade of shrubs and trees.

Consider one of the many options for creating a wilderness corner with the help of our old acquaintances, perennials.

Step one

We are clearing the site chosen to create a wilderness area. We dig holes around the perimeter for rose bushes and plant them according to the site plan.

The white rose "ICEBERG" is distinguished by its abundant and long flowering. The diameter of the bushes reaches 90 centimeters with a height of up to 120 centimeters.

The shrub red rose "MANNHEIM" is a highly branched bush with cherry red flowers. The diameter of large bushes is up to 1.5 meters with a height of up to 2 meters.

Step two

On the semi-shaded part of the site, we plant in groups decorative Astilba with pink panicle inflorescences. We maintain the distance between the seedlings, taking into account that as they grow, each will occupy an area with a diameter of up to 60 centimeters with a plant height of up to 120 centimeters. We water the planted bushes well. Until the appearance of broom-shaped inflorescences, the decoration of the corner will be the pinnately dissected decorative leaves of Astilba. Fill the spaces between the seedlings with prepared compost.

Step three

On the sunny part of the site we plant Agapanthus (variety "HEADBOURNE" with blue umbrella-shaped inflorescences); Lavender with blue and purple flowers; Highlander with pink globular inflorescences. We water the plantings abundantly.

Agapanthus is propagated by dividing its fleshy rhizome. Before the appearance of inflorescences, its basal rosettes of dark green dense belt-shaped leaves serve as decoration. Inflorescences bloom on peduncles reaching a meter in height.

Lavender is not only decorative, but also saturates the air with the fragrant aroma of its flowers and leaves. Plant height ranges from 30 to 90 centimeters. The diameter of the bushes is 50-60 centimeters.

Highlander grows with a dense, low (height up to 20-30 cm) carpet, up to 30 centimeters in diameter.

Caring for a wildly man-made corner

A couple of years will have to take care of the "wild" corner, until the plants grow so much that annoying weeds can no longer invade their living space. But, until those happy times, it is necessary to regularly rid our wild corner of uninvited guests.

You should also get rid of plants that are firmly entrenched in their positions and encroached on the seizure of territories allotted to other plants, thereby erasing the boundaries between different plants. Such behavior will violate the harmony of the wild corner we have conceived.

Plants require regular watering, especially during the dry period of summer, and top dressing with complex mineral fertilizers. Water the rose bushes gently, at the root, trying not to splash on the leaves.

Enjoy your rest in the man-made "wild" corner of nature!
