For centuries, people have observed the behavior of the surrounding nature in order to coordinate their agricultural work with it: the timing of planting, weeding of plants, and harvesting. This helped to get a more efficient return on the hard work of the tiller. By observing, they passed on from generation to generation various signs that help predict the weather.

The century of growing industrial giants everywhere, plowing the expanses of the universe of satellites and space rockets, violated the established way of life of nature. She fussed about to adjust to modern speeds, the cycles born of centuries were broken. People's signs have lost the gift of foresight. In such a natural environment, to the rescue of gardeners, they came up with greenhouses, for which the unpredictability and vagaries of nature are not afraid.

Greenhouse

The simplest greenhouses were made in the villages before, trying to get fresh vegetables as soon as possible after a long and frosty winter. They arranged dung beds for cucumbers. Fortunately, the village was rich in manure, there was no need to spend a tidy sum of money, as it is today, to bring an invaluable helper to the site.

The beds were covered at night with large burdock leaves, with rags, and who was more prosperous - with glass, so that the night cold snap would not dissipate the dung heat into the space. And stocky cucumbers were poured, covered with appetizing pimples, to the delight of large families.

Year-round shelter

To the aid of burdock leaves, which have undeservedly become a rarity in well-groomed gardens, came wood, metal, concrete, glass and various coatings made of artificial material. Greenhouses began to be used not only in unpredictable spring weather, but also all year round. July and August lost leadership in the supply of tomatoes, cucumbers and other vegetables to market and store counters. Now vegetables all twelve months of the year, as in the fairy tale of the same name, delight the buyer. Only the size of the price reminds what time of year it is.

It is interesting that greenhouses are erected not only to protect plantings from frost, but also to protect them from the scorching rays of the sun. Driving in a comfortable bus through the Negev desert, along the route "Jerusalem - the Dead Sea", the eye periodically catches the greenhouses on the endless sandy expanses. Israel is one of the few countries on the planet where the "green wealth" of the Earth is not decreasing, but increasing.

Modern greenhouses

Today our industry offers a huge selection of greenhouses for every taste and budget. When purchasing a greenhouse, you must consider the following points:

* What are you going to grow in the greenhouse. The height, area and material from which the greenhouse is made will depend on this.

* Will it be a detached building or an extension to existing ones.

* The need for a greenhouse is of purely practical interest or its appearance should be in harmony with the general dacha ensemble.

* What kind of floor will be in the greenhouse: compacted soil, wood or poured concrete.

* In order to arrange a winter garden in a greenhouse, there must be facilities for people to rest in it.

Prices for good, small greenhouses are relatively low. Comfortable greenhouses for winter gardens will be expensive.

Greenhouse constructions

* Choosing the size of the greenhouse is not an easy task. There are a number of points to consider. Many who purchase a greenhouse for the first time try to buy a small one - it seems that the requests are initially small, and the cost is more modest. Over time, appetites grow, and the person recalls Balda's admonition: "You, priest, would not be chasing cheapness!", But it's too late. In such cases, experienced gardeners are advised to buy a modular greenhouse, which can later be expanded.

* The material of the greenhouse frame is chosen depending on the taste of the buyer, the period of the proposed operation of the structure, as well as the time and means for caring for it.

Aluminum frames are easy to maintain, let in more light, but also lose heat faster at night.

Timber frames retain heat better, but are less durable.

PVC frames are practically maintenance-free, but due to their low bearing capacity, they are not suitable for large greenhouses.

Anodized steel frames are more commonly used for industrial greenhouses.

* The ventilation device in greenhouses is provided by opening the side transoms and necessarily the transom on the roof to release excess warm air, which rises up according to the laws of physics.

* For more effective thermal insulation, glass of greenhouses is additionally tightened with transparent or foamed polyethylene, or polyethylene with air bubbles. Those who can afford it can install double glass frames.
