Lighting
In winter, the daylight hours are very short. Naturally, there is not enough daylight for the full growth of various plants. Accordingly, we will have to add additional lighting to make the greenery feel comfortable.
By the way, people and plants perceive different parts of the light spectrum, so it is advisable to purchase special phytolamps. But this is just advice for those who are professionally involved in growing greenery, for home use, an ordinary table lamp will be enough.

Priming
For growing greens, you can use any soil: purchased, prepared from the summer, and so on. The easiest option is purchased soil. It is already completely ready to use, lightweight, any crops grow well in it.
If it is possible to bring soil from a personal plot (as an option, bring it from a summer cottage), then you can not waste money, but use the available land. But it needs a little preparation. First, to ignite, this is done in order to avoid the introduction of various pests into the house, since indoor plants can then also suffer from them. Secondly, if the soil is not sandy, then add a small amount of calcined sand to make the soil lighter. Thirdly, add a small amount of peat, you can add a small (very small) amount of granular fertilizers to the soil. That's it, the soil is ready.
Capacity
For growing greenery, you can buy special rectangular containers, or you can put together boxes of the required size yourself. In addition, our greens will grow just as well in unnecessary flower pots and various mayonnaise buckets (available materials will reduce the cost of the final product).
Seeds
Planting material can be bought in specialized gardening stores, choosing the variety we like the most. But this is not necessary. For growing various greens at home, seeds you have collected yourself on your own plot (cottage, garden) are perfect.
In the containers we have chosen, we pour a little gravel on the bottom or break a small amount of foam, this will be our drainage. The drainage layer should be 1.5-2 cm, no more. Then we fill up the prepared soil on top, level it. We plant our seeds to a depth of about 2 centimeters, water the soil well, cover the top with polyethylene (you can use cling film) and put in a warm place so that the seeds germinate. This takes about 10 days.
After the emergence of seedlings, we remove the film and rearrange our containers to a permanent place: on the window, balcony, table, and so on. Do not forget to water the greens, make sure that the soil does not dry out.
Top dressing
Top dressing is usually not required, the exception is soil from the garden, to which no fertilizers have been added. But in this case, it is enough to add liquid fertilizer to the water for irrigation once.
Harvesting"
After 3-5 weeks, you can harvest the first "harvest", that is, pick off the leaves from our greens and add to the cooking dishes. Bon Appetit!
