Description of Pontic wormwood
Pontic wormwood is a perennial herb. The rhizome of such a plant is creeping, and its thickness will be equal to one and a half to three millimeters. The height of the stem of Pontic wormwood will fluctuate between forty and one hundred centimeters, such a stem is erect and herbaceous, while the lower part of this stem will be leafy. The baskets of such a plant will be almost spherical, their width is two and a half to four millimeters, they are drooping and very close in a narrow paniculate inflorescence. The marginal flowers of Pontic sagebrush will be pistillate, there are only twelve of them, the corolla of this plant is narrow-tubular, and it will be expanded downward. The flowers of the disk of this plant are quite numerous: there are only forty to forty-five of them, such flowers will be bisexual and partly underdeveloped. The rim of Pontic wormwood will be bare and conical.
This plant blooms in the month of August. Under natural conditions, Pontic wormwood is found in the Caucasus, Central Asia, Western Siberia, Crimea, as well as the following regions of the European part of Russia: Nizhnedonsky, Volzhsko-Kamsky, Volzhsko-Don and Zavolzhsky regions. For growth, this plant prefers the banks of rivers, forests, steppe shrubs, forest edges, glades, slopes of river valleys, dry solonetzic and saline meadows.
Description of the medicinal properties of Pontic wormwood
Pontic wormwood is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use the juice and herb of this plant. The concept of grass includes inflorescences, stems and leaves. The presence of such valuable healing properties is recommended to be explained by the content of coumarins, rubber, essential oil and polyacetylene compounds in this plant.
It is noteworthy that in the experiment it was proved that the essential oil of this plant will be endowed with very effective analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. This essential oil, depending on the degree of its concentration, has the ability to manifest fungicidal and bacteriostatic activity, and is also indicated for use as a source of azulene. The infusion and tincture, prepared on the basis of the herb wormwood, will be endowed with anthelmintic properties.
It should be noted that in Bulgaria Pontic wormwood is used as a composite of raw materials for the preparation of a drug called maraslavin.
As for traditional medicine, here a decoction and infusion prepared on the basis of the herb of this plant will be used as an expectorant, anthelmintic, appetite-stimulating and digestive aid. Also, such funds are used for amenorrhea and are used as a tonic for various nervous diseases and fever.
Powder based on the herb wormwood is used as a wound healing agent, and inflorescences in the form of poultices are used for scrotal tumors.
With a poor appetite, it is recommended to use the following very effective remedy based on this plant: to prepare such a remedy, you will need to take one teaspoon of chopped wormwood herb per three hundred milliliters of water. The resulting mixture should be boiled for about two to three minutes, and then this mixture is infused for one hour and filtered very thoroughly. Such a remedy is taken before the start of a meal two to three times a day, one third of a glass.
