Slide construction

We proceed to the construction of the structural base of the slide from the prepared stones. If there are not as many stones as required, you can use construction waste, gravel, crushed stone to build the core of the hill, thereby also clearing the summer cottage area from unnecessary rubbish. A layer of such waste should be at least 30 centimeters thick. Pour the previously removed fertile soil on top, enriching it with rotted manure and a small amount of bone meal. Add a little sand and brick chips, tamp it well, and then install the prepared boulders or stone fragments of rock.
Several rules for constructing a slide
1. Nearby it is necessary to place stones that do not differ very much from each other in their texture, color and shape.
2. In order for the stones to lie on the ground steadily, they must be laid on the ground, that is, with a wide side, and not with tops and sharp sides.
3. The soil around each large boulder must be thoroughly tamped and the stones should be covered half their height with soil mixture.
4. Several stones should serve as comfortable supports to help care for the plants on the slide. That is, so that you can step on them without fear for yourself and the plants.
It is possible that on the first try you will not be able to do everything beautifully and conveniently. Therefore, it is necessary to start the device of rockeries with the easiest slide to perform. You should not place stones strictly according to symmetry, arbitrary picturesquely scattered groups look much more impressive.
Selection of plants
When choosing plants for a rock garden, your eyes simply run up from the breadth of the assortment. Therefore, it is very important to clearly define your desires.
Of course, not a single alpine slide is complete without ground cover perennials, shrubs, shrubs or dwarf trees. It is they who create the background of the entire composition, beautifully located between the stones and decorating the hill with live fresh greens throughout the summer season.
At the top of the hill, on dry, poor soils, some dwarf shrubs, rock beetroot and short-stemmed cloves grow well.
A perennial herb with the name "rejuvenated" is irreplaceable for rockeries. Its root rosette of fleshy leaves is very unpretentious and will easily fit into any gap between stones, in the most inconvenient place of an alpine slide. The plant looks great on a slide, and, moreover, serves as a protection for the soil from washout.
The hill will not do without a perennial rhizome plant named "saxifrage", different varieties of which bloom at different times, and therefore will decorate the flower garden throughout the season. True, saxifrage have different attitudes towards lighting, so this must be taken into account when choosing a variety.
The subulate phlox, stonecrops, bulbous and bulbous flowers are good on the hill.
