Action of drugs
There is no need to expect an instant effect, like from chemicals, from bio-helpers. After 2 hours, the larvae will not fall off the plants. In the first stage after treatment, the pests limit their diet. The next two days they begin to hurt, then they completely die. It takes 4-5 days from the first to the last stage.
The exception is the drug Fitoferm. Its effect is visible after 2 days. The only member of this class who acts well, even in sunny weather.
To work successfully, bacteria need:
• stable temperature above 20 degrees for 3 days after treatment;
• calm, cloudy weather;
• processing in the evening;
• high air humidity (preferably immediately after rain);
• use of adhesive.
Each of the points will extend the life of the little "helpers".
Development mechanism
The duration of the work of microorganisms is different. Some bacteria are active until the moisture evaporates (15-30 minutes), while others have time to give birth in the form of spores resistant to drying, which "wake up" when humidity is restored (after rain or spraying).
Most of the "helpers" in a short period of time (30 minutes) manage to go through the full development cycle: "born", mature, feeding on pathogens, leave offspring, and die.
Processing in the evening helps small organisms to work actively without any problems. For them, the sun's rays are destructive. Ultraviolet light kills beneficial microbes in the bud. Night humidity prevents droplets from drying out quickly, allowing for several development cycles.
A fine spray (about 1mm in diameter) covers most of the plant surface, preventing the solution from rolling onto the soil. The bacteria act on contact with the leaf surface. Therefore, they try to get all the parts: from the upper and lower sides of the plate.
Adhesives
Adding adhesives to solutions has several functions:
• increases the time of action of microorganisms;
• moisture dries longer on plants;
• drops roll off the leaves less, clinging due to an increase in the viscosity of the solution;
• favorable breeding ground for "helpers";
• attract water after drying out of the air.
As adhesives used: bone, carpentry (organic) glue, the drug Mars.
Working with glue
Carpentry, bone glue contains animal proteins with a gelling base. Sold in hardware stores with dry tiles.
To obtain a solution, they are soaked in cold water for 12 hours. Cook in a water bath until tender, skimming off the foam, at a temperature not exceeding 65 degrees. Store in the refrigerator. Reheat before use.
The amount of dry mass of glue in the working solution is 0.5-1 g per 1 liter of water. For convenience, the mother concentrate is initially prepared in a 1: 100 ratio. Before use, dilute to the desired consistency.
The drug Mars
A separate line is the drug Mars, which, in addition to adhesive properties, has a number of other characteristics:
1. Increases heat resistance of the main crop (relevant for greenhouses).
2. Regulates the timing of germination, increasing seed germination. Helps them get away from adverse factors.
3. Stimulates root development, improving plant nutrition, increasing yields up to 15%.
4. As a fungicide, it prevents root rot infestation.
five. Helps withstand dry periods by reducing leaf evaporation.
For 10 liters of water add 20 ml of the preparation Mars. Stir vigorously, letting the solution brew for half an hour.
