Ornamental grasses are very different in appearance from their usual wild counterparts. Perhaps the only function of decorative grass is aesthetic, such plants create beauty on the site, form an ornament. Another task of grasses is to create variety in shape and texture in the garden, to make it richer and more vibrant. Grasses of different heights will allow you to add novelty to the standard set of garden design "bushes-trees-stones"

Part 2. The choice of ornamental grasses by their height

Ornamental grasses are a real find for anyone looking for a way to improve their garden, make it larger and more beautiful. This type of grass has many strengths: independence from the season, resistance to bad weather and winds, excellent tolerance to drought and heavy rains, low level of pest and disease damage. Ornamental grasses look wonderful everywhere - in rockeries, flower beds, in natural gardens, near water bodies, on gravel areas, open space, etc. Plants can be planted either separately or adjacent to flowers and other foliage.

We already know what types of grasses can be planted in the warm season, what plants - in the cold season. Now it's time to tell you what kind of ornamental grasses exist depending on the height criterion.

Tall ornamental grasses

In the autumn-winter period, many people use tall ornamental grasses. So, for the cold season, a plantarium (sword-grass) is perfect - a tall and thin plant with fluffy branches. It has a rather delicate structure that can give even a harsh autumn landscape the necessary charm.
