Shrub polisias is one of the plants of the family called Araliaceae. In Latin, the name of this plant will sound like this: Polyscias fruticosa. As for the name of the family itself, in Latin it will be like this: Araliaceae.

Description of the shrub polisias

In order for this plant to develop favorably, it will be necessary to provide it with a solar light regime, but the partial shade regime is also quite acceptable. Throughout the summer, it is important to maintain abundant watering while maintaining a fairly high degree of humidity as well.

The life form of the Poliscias is an evergreen shrub. This plant is most often found in various conservatories and greenhouses. It should be noted that the cultivation of poliscias shrubs in a room culture seems to be quite problematic: here it is recommended to grow it in the so-called display windows.

As for the maximum size in culture, the height of this plant can be on the order of two to two and a half meters.

Description of the features of the care and cultivation of the poliscias shrub

For a favorable development of this plant, regular transplanting is recommended, and young crops should be transplanted every year. For older specimens of the shrub poliscias, such a transplant once every two to four years will be enough, while it is recommended to use pots of standard proportions. As for the composition of the land mixture itself, you will need to mix one part of sod land and sand, as well as three more parts of leafy land. The acidity of such soil can be either neutral or slightly acidic.

It should be noted that the forms of this plant with dark green leaves are recommended to be placed in partial shade, but those forms that are endowed with variegated leaves will need regular bright, but diffused light. It is also important to remember that the soil must always be in a moist state. It should be noted that the plant can begin to shed its leaves in the event that there are rather sharp temperature fluctuations or irrigation occurs irregularly. In some cases, the shrub poliscias can be affected by the scabbard and spider mite.

Throughout the entire dormant period, this plant will require a temperature regime of at least eighteen degrees. At the same time, watering itself and air humidity should be kept at a moderate level. The reasons for the occurrence of such a dormant period will be an insufficient degree of illumination and low air humidity, the dormant period will last from October to February. When the plant grows in indoor conditions, then such a dormant period is forced.

Reproduction of poliscias shrub occurs through rooting of cuttings. At the same time, it is important to maintain the temperature between twenty-five and thirty degrees Celsius, and the air humidity should be quite high. Experts also recommend the use of stimulants.

As for the specific requirements of this culture, the shrub poliscias will react extremely negatively to direct exposure to direct sunlight. It is always recommended to maintain air humidity at a level of at least sixty percent, and the temperature regime should be about eighteen to twenty-two degrees Celsius. The leaves of this plant are endowed with decorative properties, the length of which can reach twenty centimeters, and the slices of these leaves themselves will be very variable in shape.
