Under natural conditions, this plant will be found on the territory of all regions of the European part of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, in the Ciscaucasian region of the Caucasus, Central Asia, in the Angara-Sayan region of Eastern Siberia and in Western Siberia.

The presence of such valuable medicinal properties should be explained by the content of the following flavonoids in the composition of this plant: kaempferol, quercetin. The fruits will contain essential oil, phenols and their derivatives, fatty oil, coumarins and polyacetylene compounds. The essential oil of this plant will be mainly composed of the poisonous terpene fsllandrene. In addition, the composition of this plant will contain a poisonous resinous substance called enanthokeine, which in its effect will be very close to cicutotoxin.
It is noteworthy that this plant is poisonous, while its roots will be especially toxic. For this reason, it is recommended that extreme caution be exercised when handling omelet water. The aerial part of this plant is recommended for use with furunculosis.
Tincture of the fruits of this plant, essential oil and extract are used as an expectorant for pneumonia, bronchitis, respiratory infections, pulmonary tuberculosis and bronchial asthma. In addition, such drugs are endowed with diaphoretic, diuretic and analgesic effects for stomach cramps, colic and hypochondria. Locally, such remedies are used for mastitis.
In homeopathy, healing agents based on this plant are quite widespread, which are recommended for use in pulmonary tuberculosis, fevers and dyspepsia. It should be noted that preparations based on omezhnik water are also used in veterinary medicine.
As for traditional medicine, here the crushed fruits of this plant are used as a very effective expectorant. With inflammation of the mammary glands in lactating women, compresses should be applied based on an aqueous infusion of crushed omelet fruit.
