Ambulia water (lat. Limnophila aquatica) - an aquatic plant from the Norichnikov family. This plant has another name - aquatic limnophila.
Description
Ambulia aquatica is a luxurious long-stemmed aquarium plant that can grow up to half a meter in height and is endowed with long stems, densely covered with light green finely cut leaves, forming extremely original and incredibly elegant rosettes on the water surface. The diameter of the whorls often reaches twelve centimeters, and the average thickness of the stems is about six millimeters.
Ambulia flowers are characterized by a pleasant-looking pale blue color and rather dark and very bizarre patterns.

The homeland of ambulia water is not only India, but also the island of Sri Lanka - in these regions it has been well known since the beginning of the twentieth century.
Usage
Ambulia water is widely used to decorate aquariums - it is simply impossible to look away from its chic openwork thickets, painted in juicy green tones.
Growing and caring
Ambulia aquatic, just like a number of other tropical representatives of aquatic flora, is a thermophilic plant - it will feel most comfortable at a water temperature of twenty-four to twenty-eight degrees. And if the thermometer falls below twenty-two degrees, a beautiful plant can stop growing. As for the rigidity and active reaction of the environment, they do not play a special role for the cultivation of ambulia water. But this water beauty is very fond of fresh water, so water changes will have to be done regularly.
The silt content of the soil intended for growing ambulia water should be moderate enough, and the best substrate will be coarse river sand or small pebbles. But it is not recommended to use a coarse-grained substrate - it provokes damage to the delicate stems and their subsequent decay, which will inevitably lead to the fact that Ambulia water will begin to float to the surface. When transplanted into a new substrate, this aquatic beauty can slow down its growth for a while. In order to significantly speed up the process of its rehabilitation and contribute to the further growth of a beautiful aquatic inhabitant, you can place a small clay lump under the roots.
When growing ambulia water, the soil must be periodically cleaned of silt - with excessively silted soil, it immediately slows down growth.
As for the lighting, it should be bright enough. With a lack of light, the stalks of an aquatic plant begin to slowly stretch upward, and it quickly loses its aesthetic appearance. The best, one might even say, the ideal option would be excellent sunlight. And the best solution for organizing an ambulia of water artificial lighting will be LU fluorescent lamps, the power of which is selected at the rate of 0.5 W for each liter of the aquarium. In the event that there is not enough light, it is quite permissible to add several lamps - either fluorescent (if there is enough space for their installation), or simple incandescent lamps. And the daylight hours of this plant should not exceed ten to twelve hours.
Propagation of ambulia water occurs mainly by cuttings of stems, however, some aquarists manage to propagate it by dividing rhizomes (but this is extremely rare). The separated apical stalk, which has reached a length of fifteen to twenty centimeters, is immediately transplanted into the ground, and it rather quickly puts out tiny roots in the bases of the leaf whorls located below. By the way, it is categorically not recommended to immediately send the separated cuttings to free swimming - this will significantly slow down the growth of the root system of a beautiful aquatic inhabitant. And in general, its growth will also slow down.
