Ligustikum mutellin is one of the plants of the family called umbrella, in Latin the name of this plant will sound as follows: Ligusticum mutellina (L.) Crantz (Meum mutcllina (L.) Gaerth., Mutellina purpurea (Poir.) Thell.). As for the name of the family of ligusticum mutellin itself, in Latin it will be like this: Apiaceae Lindl. (Umbelliforae Juss.).
Description of ligusticum mutellin
Ligustikum mutellina is a perennial herb, the height of which will fluctuate between ten and twenty-five centimeters. Such a plant will be endowed with a vertical or ascending root, the thickness of which will be about four millimeters. The stem of this plant can be either ascending at the very base, or straight. Such a stem is bare, simple or slightly branched at the top, as well as finely ribbed. The basal leaves of ligusticum mutellina are glabrous, on the petioles they will be almost equal to the plate, while the rest of the leaves are sessile. The umbrellas of this plant are endowed with seven to ten naked rays, in diameter their length will be about one and a half to two and a half centimeters, and the wrapper is not observed. Mutelline ligusticum petals are colored pink. The fruit of this plant can be either oblong-ovoid or elliptical, and in addition it will be slightly compressed from the sides.
Mutellin ligusticum blooms in the month of July. Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of the Carpathians in Ukraine. For growth, this plant prefers forest edges, alpine and subalpine meadows, as well as thickets of shrubs at an altitude of about two thousand meters above sea level.
Description of the medicinal properties of ligusticum mutellin
Ligustikum mutellin is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the leaves and roots of this plant for medicinal purposes.
The presence of such healing properties should be explained by the content of phthalides in the roots of this plant, while the leaves will contain quercetin and luteolin 7-glucoside, and the fruits will contain essential oil.
As for traditional medicine, a decoction is quite widespread here, which is prepared on the basis of the bark of mutellin ligusticum. Such a healing agent is recommended for various diseases of the kidneys and liver, bladder, as well as for flatulence, intoxication, acute respiratory diseases, and is also used for the manufacture of a patch. Fresh leaves of this plant can also be used topically as a very effective wound healing agent, while dry leaves of ligusticum mutellinum are used as a tea surrogate.
To prepare a very effective remedy based on this plant, you will need to take about twelve grams of dry crushed roots of ligusticum mutellin in two hundred and fifty milliliters of water. It is recommended to boil the resulting mixture for about five to six minutes over a fairly low heat, then leave to infuse for two hours, after which such a therapeutic mixture based on mutellin ligusticum should be very thoroughly filtered. Take the resulting healing agent based on this plant three times a day before the start of a meal, one fourth of a glass. It is important to note that in order to achieve the greatest efficiency when taking such a remedy, it is recommended not only to strictly follow all the rules for preparing such a remedy based on mutellin ligusticum, but also to follow all the rules for its intake.
