Flowering field larkspur falls on the period from June to July. in natural conditions, this plant can be found on the territory of the European part of Russia, in the Caucasus, in Siberia, in Belarus, in the Ukraine and in the Ciscaucasia. The plant grows like a weed in fields and in rye crops, and besides this, it also grows along forest plantations and roads.
Description of the medicinal properties of the field larkspur
Larkspur field is endowed with quite valuable healing properties, while for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use flowers, leaves and stems. Raw materials should be procured in the month of July-September. The presence of such valuable healing properties is explained by the content of melliktin, aconitic acid, delsemin alkaloid, delphinidin glycoalkaloid, organic acids, kaempferoli glycoside, as well as macro- and microelements in the plant.
In medicine, the preparations of this plant are used for various diseases of the central nervous system, with multiple sclerosis and with increased tone of the striated muscles. Melliktin is used as a relaxant in diseases of the nervous system, which will be accompanied by an increase in muscle tone. Delsemin is used in surgical practice together with narcotic drugs in order to achieve a more complete relaxation of the muscles.
As for traditional medicine, the herb infusion of this plant is used as an anti-inflammatory agent for pleurisy and pneumonia. This infusion is used for diseases of the kidneys, liver and gastrointestinal tract. With conjunctivitis and blepharitis, the infusion of flowers of the field larkspur is used in the form of lotions. Also, this plant is endowed with very valuable insecticidal properties, which allows the plant to be used to combat harmful insects.
It should be noted that field larkspur is a poisonous plant, for this reason, the use of preparations containing this plant should be done with a considerable degree of caution.
In case of pneumonia, it is recommended to use an effective remedy based on the larkspur of the field: for the preparation of such a remedy, take one teaspoon of herb for two or three glasses of boiling water. The resulting mixture should be infused for eight to ten hours in a sealed container in a warm place, after which this mixture is filtered very carefully. Such a remedy is taken one third or one fourth of a glass four times a day after a meal.
