The stem of this plant is single, simple and straight, in the upper part it will be densely glandular-hairy, in color it can be either green or brown. It is noteworthy that sometimes the stem can be colored in reddish-purple tones. The basal leaves of this plant are often drying up, they can be both inversely elliptical and ovoid, and less often they will be rounded. The lower stem leaves of the Altai doronicum will be ovoid-oblong in shape, they taper into wide winged petioles, the length of which will be about two centimeters.

The basal and lower stem leaves of this plant can quite often be reduced at the base of the stem into small scale-like stem-embracing leaves. The rest of the leaves of this plant will be broad-ovate, and they will also be stem-embracing and broad-heart-shaped at the base. All the leaves of the Altai doronicum are smooth, slightly pointed or obtuse, sometimes they are entire, and along the edge the leaves will be glandular-ciliate.

The baskets are large, the wrapper is endowed with equal leaves, the outer baskets of this plant will be oblong-lanceolate, at the base they are harsh, the inner leaves are either linear or linear-lanceolate. The ligulate flowers of the Altai Doronicum are endowed with yellow corollas, the middle tubular flowers are also endowed with yellow corollas. The fruits of this plant are smooth or sparsely hairy achenes, painted in dark brown tones. Also, such fruits are endowed with white crests and rather numerous serrated bristles.

The flowering of Altai doronicum falls on the period from June to August. Under natural conditions, this plant can be found on the territory of Western Siberia: namely, in the southern part of the Ob region, in the Irtysh and Altai regions, as well as in Central Asia and in the following regions of Eastern Siberia: in the Yenisei, Angara-Sayan and Daursky regions. As for the general distribution, the Altai Doronicum is found on the territory of Northwestern China and Mongolia.

For growth, Altai Doronicum prefers rocky slopes in the alpine zone, places near snowfields and glaciers, as well as alpine and subalpine meadows and tundra. In addition, the plant is also found among trees and shrubs, as well as along the banks of mountain streams and rivers. It should be noted that in addition to all its advantages, Altai Doronicum is also an ornamental plant, featuring a particularly striking appearance.
