The main exhibition of designer dolls in the world remains an exciting intrigue of the outgoing year - collectors, artists, lovers of beauty, journalists and art critics are eagerly awaiting the announcements of the main projects and participants of the Art of the Doll 2018 exhibition. The exhibition will traditionally be held in the prestigious exhibition hall of the capital from 14 to 16 December.

This year, the organizers again show the best dolls in the world from Antarctica to Japan, from ancient times to the cosmic future, from miniatures to giants the size of a man. The only thing that will not be at the exhibition is boring and not interesting! No wonder thousands of artists from different countries have been preparing their new collections for the final puppet event in 2018 for a whole year!

This year, the organizers have prepared 20 special projects and hundreds of author's exhibitions with dolls and Teddy bears. Viewers will see:

"Dolls from the boudoir Marlene Dietrich": famous boudoir dolls of world cinema stars - Marlene Dietrich, Clara Bow, Josephine Baker;

"Found in Antarctica": dolls of Oleg Katorgin in the project "Found in Antarctica" of the association "Exhibition Halls of Moscow": painting, graphics, objects, wooden sculpture, mail art, animation, documentary films;

-

"Dolls from mother of pearl": collection of old Japanese dolls, figurines, kimonos from the collection of Yuri Podkopaev and dolls in the ancient kimekomi technique from Alla Belyaeva;

"Dolls based on Bruegel's paintings": the project "A Doll in a Landscape on the Background of Eternity" based on the works of artists of the Northern Renaissance will be presented by the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, the Elena Gromova Gallery and the Club-Studio "Doll Collection";

"Dolls of the 19th century": antique dolls from the private collection of the collector Natalia Kurochkina - porcelain beauties, prototypes and great-grandmothers of the modern classic art doll, museum-level rarities in the Christmas atmosphere of the exposition;

"Dolls of a Child's Dream": German industrial collectible dolls and limited edition toys - new items, rare molds, the most popular "dream dolls" for girls all over the world;

"Let's meet in Venice!": carnival, masks, secrets and mysteries of doll life among the canals and palaces of the doges in the project of the School of Puppet Design;

"Amazon Dolls": in the project “Ulger. Author's dolls of the Namdakov family”female images of the ancient culture and civilization of Asia - beautiful riders prancing on horses and fantastic unicorns, graceful young girls frozen in a dance or playing musical instruments, an Amazon pulling the bowstring, a proud ruler sitting on a throne.

For several decades, doll artists around the world have been striving to make their work, which arose at the junction of several types of art in the early 20th century, recognized and legitimate, equal and as in demand as the most ancient painting, sculpture, jewelry, design. The dream of professional recognition comes true at the Doll Art exhibition. “Our project shows the art of dolls as the most modern art that has thousands of years of roots, but lives here and now. Artists speak with the viewer in the new language of the doll, which is a little over a hundred years old, but the letters of this language are as old as the world and traditional: composition, plastic, color, harmony, talent and beauty,”says the editor-in-chief of the“Puppet Master”magazine, one from the organizers of the exhibition Olga Lakhina.

Once a year, the Art of the Doll gathers people for whom such an understanding of their creative life component is close and in tune, the atmosphere of the exhibition gives a feeling of sincere mutual understanding and solidarity in creative impulses. Gathering such artists from all over the world in the capital of Russia is the talent and genius of the organizers, thanks to whom the dreams of artists and spectators come true.

Traditionally, artists from 26 countries of the world come to the exhibition, and this is a unique opportunity to see all the best in the center of Moscow - in the historical building of the Gostiny Dvor architectural monument.

The viewers of the exhibition will have the opportunity to buy dolls and collectible Teddy bears, educational literature, materials for creating dolls and bears, accessories, gifts for the Christmas tree and under the Christmas tree, take pictures with unique dolls, which after the exhibition will be included in private collections and will disappear from the public's field of vision forever. …

The exposition is addressed to a wide range of spectators, families with children of different ages, with the exception of one project "Naked Collection", which will be marked "18+" in the exhibition space.
