In a garden plot, a summer residence, and even in a flower bed, in addition to ordinary flowers, vegetables and trees, you can grow medicinal herbs
Firstly, it is more profitable than buying from a pharmacy. Secondly, you will always know in what conditions the herbs are grown and if there is any "chemistry" in them. Thirdly, you always have at hand the fresh herbs that you and your family need. By the way, many medicinal plants bloom very beautifully, so that they not only do not spoil the flower bed, but also help to make it brighter and more varied.
In this article I want to talk about the acmella garden. Many people know it under other names: paracress, garden spilantes. But, nevertheless, no matter how this culture is called, the benefits from it do not diminish. Leaves are eaten. I add a few to a regular tomato-cucumber salad along with dill and parsley, the paracress leaves give the salad a spicy flavor.
Why grow acmella garden?
Akmella garden has excellent analgesic properties (in a salad, if a piece of leaf gets on the tongue, it feels like the tongue is slightly numb), so you can prepare an alcoholic tincture or a decoction of leaves and buds for external use and rinse the mouth with toothache or stomatitis. Also, the plant is recommended for arthritis, regular use allows you to forget about aching joints for a long time. And also acmella is good for rheumatism.
In addition to medicinal purposes, Acmella can be grown as an ornamental border annual plant (in general, in the southern countries, Acmella is considered a perennial plant, but in our climate it grows only as an annual), since it blooms for quite a long time.
We grow garden acmella
It is difficult to tell the exact month of sowing, since we have different weather conditions. But it is possible to plant Acmella garden in the ground only after the onset of warm weather without the threat of frost. That is, seedlings are planted in the ground or seeds are planted not earlier than May. But you can sow seeds for seedlings in early April.
We grow seedlings of acmella garden
I plant seedlings. I grow seedlings in a large flowerpot using light commercial soil. I moisten the soil well in the flowerpot, then sprinkle the seeds on top, lightly cover with moist soil and then cover with cling film. I leave it like this until germination.
With cling film, you can not bother and grow seedlings as usual, only watering is done by spraying water from a spray bottle, but it is convenient for me with a film, since you can not be afraid of freezing sprouts and drying out the soil. And during the period of the beginning of growth, moisture is very important for Acmella!
We plant in the soil
It is worth planting acmella in a sunny area, since it does not like shade and grows poorly there. In addition to the sun, paracress loves light soils, so I prepare the soil before planting seedlings. By the way, I grow acmella in a “flowerbed” with other medicinal herbs such as mint, marigolds and so on. Akmella serves as a border, because its height is about 30-35 centimeters.
For Acmella, I mix 1 part each of sand, peat and garden soil. Incidentally, this mixture allows you to refuse to feed the plant. Further, in the place of planting seedlings (or seeds) of Acmella, I remove part of the soil and fill in the prepared mixture. And I plant seeds or previously grown seedlings in it. The distance between plants in a row should be 20-25 cm, and between rows - 30-35 cm, since the plant seems to spread along the ground and creep to the sides.
And Akmella can be planted in hanging pots, she feels great there and grows well. The main thing is not to forget to water on time!
Care
Paracress does not require special care. The main thing is timely watering. It is fashionable to feed 1 time per summer, after feeding the acmella the garden grows more actively, but if you do not have depleted soil, then it is better not to feed the plant.

We Grow Asters In Greenhouses And Garden Beds
Many gardeners and gardeners are familiar with such "greed" in a good sense of the word, when they want to sow many vegetables on seedlings, and at the same time, apart from the daily food, do not forget about the high and beautiful - about flower beds. But how often you have to sacrifice something in order to make way for an extra glass with a flower or a pot with a growing eggplant on the windowsills. In order not to get into such a situation, grow seedlings of your favorite flowers not at home, but on the street - in a greenhouse or in the ground under cover
