It's good to have aloe in your home. This indoor flower is the first helper in health promotion, and in recipes for home cosmetics, and it also helps to awaken and heal the seeds before the spring suffering. Among the remarkable qualities of a plant is its ability to grow very quickly and give life to more and more new shoots. Before you have time to look back, instead of one stalk, a whole bush is already growing from the pot. What to do with this large family so as not to harm the flower and not lose its useful properties?

Aloe plant transplant

It is always gratifying when the plant develops well, but the rapid growth of a large number of shoots in one pot will soon lead to the fact that the leaves of the aloe, with its beneficial juice, begin to stretch and become thin. Therefore, you need to cut off daughter plants in time and turn them into breeding material.

You can start cutting off the shoots for reproduction when they become about the width of your palm or slightly more. A couple of lower leaves are removed from the cutting to expose the stem for the formation of a root system. Plants can be rooted directly in a nutritious substrate. But before that, the cuttings must be allowed to dry out a little. If the shoot was removed from the aloe in the morning, the cuttings are transplanted in the afternoon. At the same time, the planting material will not die if you carry it from afar, and the journey takes about a day.

A drainage layer must be arranged in the pot. Aloe is very sensitive to moisture and dies if it is abundant in the soil. For prophylaxis, the cut of the cuttings is treated with crushed charcoal. Then the container is filled with a nutrient substrate and the end of the cutting is immersed in it until the first leaves. After planting for rooting, dry soil is moderately watered.

The pot with the handle is left in a warm place. Covering the stalk with plastic will help. After a couple of weeks, it will already be fixed in the soil with roots.

You can also root the cutting in a container of wet sand. When it's time to transplant a new plant, you can purchase soil for agave or Kalanchoe in the store for it. Or compose it yourself - this will require sod land, deciduous, sand and charcoal.

Aloe care

Keep the aloe in a well-lit place, but not in direct sunlight, otherwise the leaves will dry out. The flower is durable and easy to care for. Watering is carried out infrequently, otherwise the plant will begin to rot. But other misfortunes in the form of diseases and pests bypass him.

Does not need frequent feeding. For fertilization, you can use a slurry based on chicken manure or horse manure. Also, for the purpose of feeding, the soil is watered with infusion of onion peels.

It is recommended to wipe dust from the leaves of the plant. Better to do this with a dry cotton swab. It is undesirable for moisture to get into the center of the outlet, on leaves or internodes.

When, for medicinal purposes, only a few leaves need to be removed from a large plant, they begin to do this from below. The fact that the leaf has matured and has accumulated useful substances as much as possible is signaled by a slight drying out of the tips. The leaf is not cut off, but carefully removed from the trunk along with a film that prevents the juice-gel from flowing out - it still has to ripen.

Before using in the recipe, the leaves should be allowed to lie in a cool, dark place for several days. To do this, you can wrap the healing material in a cloth and leave it in the refrigerator or basement.
