Garden lights are a great way to complement the design of any area. The huge variety of modern garden lights provides us with a unique opportunity to effortlessly create an original lighting project and organize the proper lighting of the area adjacent to the house. And what kind of lamps should you give preference to?
Why do you need garden lighting?
Artificial lighting of the site performs two important functions at once: firstly, it provides the site with the proper level of illumination, and secondly, garden lamps are also incredibly effective decorative elements - thanks to these simple decorations, the design of even the most modest site acquires additional aesthetics. Both stylish lanterns and cute lighting for the lawn will help give the territory a special charm and place all the semantic accents on the site.
And if you are lucky enough to combine several types of lamps at once in the garden, you can constantly admire the amazingly beautiful play of light and shadow! What kind of lamps should you prefer - mobile or stationary?
Mobile lamps
Such lamps are good because, if necessary, they can be moved to any point of the site at any time. The function of the power source in these devices is performed by small solar cells or accumulators, and the main light elements are diode bulbs, which make it possible to achieve the required level of illumination with relatively low energy consumption.
In stores, mobile garden lights are usually found in sets, each of which includes four to ten pieces. True, despite the convenience and mobility, these lamps are still not able to provide the same aesthetic effect as their more bulky stationary counterparts. Therefore, in order to achieve the best effect, experts recommend using both options at the same time when arranging garden lighting.
Stationary luminaires
They can be ground, as well as ground or suspended. By the way, their assortment is so great that even the most fastidious gardener will definitely choose the most suitable lamp for himself - both in design and in some technical characteristics.
Any ground lanterns mounted directly into steps, curbs or lawns are always equipped with additional protection - this is due to the specifics of the environment in which they will find themselves. And their body is always made of aluminum or steel alloys characterized by a reinforced safety margin. As for light diffusers, they are often equipped with mineral glass - in this case, the lamp becomes absolutely indifferent to temperature extremes, as well as to the effects of moisture or ultraviolet radiation. Moreover, despite the fact that such lamps are called ground-based, they are often installed in the bowls of picturesque artificial ponds or pools.
Of course, ground lanterns cannot boast of a very bright glow power, however, it turns out to be more than enough for the proper level of illumination of winding garden paths, as well as the borders of green lawns or bright flower beds. And thanks to the presence of halogen bulbs, you can always choose the most suitable tone of the light flux - from transparent whitish to blue, green or red.
As for the graceful pendant and spectacular ground luminaires, they are most often placed in areas that need bright lighting. For example, the front entrance to the house is often decorated with hanging sconces, which are placed right in front of the front door. An equally good option would be the lanterns installed on supports from the corners of the house - this type of device boasts an intense light flux falling from top to bottom, allowing you to focus not only on the facade of the house itself, but also on the site adjacent to it. In the same way as for ground lanterns, you can also choose absolutely any lamp color for them - in this case, first of all, they are guided by the general style solution of the site.
And ground-based luminaires will be the ideal solution for organizing illumination of trees with shrubs, as well as sculptures or other decorative elements placed on the territory. Both plafonds and lamps in them are mounted on supports, the height of which can vary from twenty centimeters to one and a half meters. And the luminous flux in this case can go not only from top to bottom, but also in the opposite direction!
