On your first trip to the country, do not plan to plant seedlings and seeds. Most likely, it is still cool enough. In addition, tree work and site preparation will likely take you an entire weekend.
By the way, there is one more important recommendation. Many people try to buy all the seedlings at once: tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and so on, and try to plant them immediately, which, in principle, is true, since long storage of seedlings leads to its deterioration. But landing "in bulk" takes a lot of time and effort. Believe me, it will be much easier for you if you break the purchase and planting of seedlings into parts. For example, plant tomatoes and peppers on your first ride. Or plant tomato seedlings and seeds of radishes, carrots, beets. How to divide the planting of seedlings correctly? Set aside more heat-loving and capricious plants (cucumbers, peppers) for a week later. And the soil warms up better, and it will be easier for you. And believe me, nothing terrible will happen this week.
After arrival and unloading, we start to work. By the way, work also needs to be divided into primary and secondary. For example, weed control is secondary. And nothing terrible will happen if you do not weed the entire area "to shine". By the way, sometimes weeds also do useful work. It’s hard to believe, but it’s true. For example, in dry summers and sunshine, plants partially growing with weeds remain green longer and their soil is more moist than in a weeded area (weeds create shade and do not allow moisture to evaporate quickly). But this does not mean that we need to let our dacha grow weeds. Let's just postpone weeding for a more free week.
We will start by planting seedlings, if we have purchased them and want to grow good trees. We prepare holes for seedlings, water, fertilize (we got acquainted with the correct technology at home?) And plant. Then we carry out inspection, pruning, cleaning of trees from lichens, moss and we carry out spring whitewashing. In early spring, this is one of the most important things to do. Now we collect everything that we cleaned from the trees, everything that we cut off and burn in a specially designated place.
Often, working with trees takes the entire first day. No need to "dig" until dark and try to be in time as much as possible. The body, not accustomed to such sharp loads, may fail the next day. Also, do not forget about breaks and snacks.
The next day, we mark the beds, loosen the soil on them, and, if necessary, apply fertilizers. In general, we are preparing our summer cottage for planting seeds and seedlings. If there is still a lot of time and it is already warm enough, you can plant several rows of potatoes (if you plan to plant them at all).
We look at the sizes of our beds and roughly calculate the amount of necessary seedlings, so that later, when buying, it does not turn out that there will be many unclaimed plants, and we do not have a new headache - where should we stick them?
By the way, if you have bears on your site, then now is the time to start fighting them, so that later, after planting seedlings, the pest will not leave you without plants.
By the way, if you want to protect the seedlings from the bear, you can not only poison it, but also just wrap the plant before planting with a pre-cut film 1-2 cm high and 3-4 cm wide. But this method has a significant disadvantage - this film is then collected for a long time throughout the summer cottage.
Trees and shrubs have been planted, whitewashed, the beds are ready for planting, on the next visit it will be possible to start planting seeds and cold-resistant seedlings. In the meantime, you can take a break.
These tips are not an alphabet or a panacea, you yourself can vary the necessary work in the country, you yourself can determine what comes first, what then. Just remember to take into account the desired timing of certain types of work. And don't try to do everything at once, it's almost impossible! Have a good harvest and rest for everyone!
