Milk is an incredibly healthy product that will come in handy not only in the kitchen, but also in the country. The benefits of milk for garden crops cannot be overestimated, because it not only nourishes them, but also protects them from attacks of various ailments and malicious pests. Why is it so useful, what kind of milk will be most suitable for use in the country and how to properly prepare top dressing or spray solution?

The benefits of milk

Milk contains a whole range of nutrient compounds that are equally beneficial for both the human body and the development of plants. This valuable product to a large extent contributes to the so-called "metabolism" in plants, significantly facilitating the process of assimilation of all other useful components introduced in the form of dressings or located directly in the soil.

Protection against diseases and pests

Almost all insect pests are unable to digest lactose (milk sugar) due to their lack of a pancreas. That is why milk feeding and regular spraying are an excellent way to combat a wide variety of ailments and gluttonous pests.

When spraying growing crops, milk, which is the main component of all milk solutions, forms an incredibly thin film on the leaves of plants, which serves as a serious barrier to the penetration of pathogens of various dangerous diseases.

What is milk for in the country?

At the dacha, milk is used either for treatments against various pests and ailments, or for feeding planted crops. But that's not all: milk is one of the most valuable components for making compost, as it noticeably enhances its microbiological activity, saturates the compost with useful compounds and reliably protects it from harmful insects.

Which milk is best for you?

Raw, not heat-treated milk will certainly be the best option for the most important summer cottage work. However, it is quite permissible to use sterilized or pasteurized milk, but at the same time it is necessary to be aware that most of the vitamins and other useful compounds are nevertheless destroyed during heat treatment.

What crops need milk?

Every literate person knows that milk is rich in potassium. However, not all summer residents know that this element is especially necessary for various garden crops during the formation of juicy fruits on them.

Especially well perceives the treatment with a milk-iodine solution of seedlings of peppers and tomatoes - such sprays not only perfectly nourish the seedlings, but also provide them with reliable protection against many pests and diseases. Some summer residents note that even the merciless late blight is afraid of milk! Tomatoes planted in the ground are also recommended to be "treated" with milk from time to time - for this, a liter of milk is diluted in a ten-liter bucket of water and the resulting solution is added to a ladle of the resulting solution under each tomato bush.

Many indoor plants will not give up dairy dressings, with the exception of cacti and succulents, for which this dressing may be the last in their life.

How to prepare milk solution?

Using pure milk is an extremely unfortunate idea, because in this way you can even harm the vegetation. Therefore, in order to extract maximum benefit from milk, milk or milk-iodine solutions are prepared with its addition. In this case, milk is diluted with water in a ratio of 1: 4 or 1: 5. For the preparation of a milk-iodine solution, the proportions are similar (for a liter of milk - four or five liters of water), with the only difference that fifteen drops of iodine are additionally added to such a solution.
