The powerful bushes of Goldenrod are gaining strength, growing along the country or village fence, intending to decorate the month of August with their sunny racemose inflorescences. Many gardeners have a negative attitude towards a life-loving and resistant plant that loves to press against other natural decorators, and therefore mercilessly uproot it from their territory. People who know about the healing abilities of this viable representative of the plant world of our planet are much more peaceful about the plant
Latin name of the plant
The plant was nicknamed by the people for its bright yellow inflorescences, cobbled together by nature from small flower baskets characteristic of plants of the Astrov family. Botanists, having ranked the plant in this family, gave it the Latin name "Solidago" (Solidago).
Although the Latin word "solidago" is divided into different components: some take the Latin word "solidus" (healthy, strong) as a basis, others believe that the word is formed by the merger of two words, "solido" and "ago" (to splice and do), the essence this does not interfere with the name, since the name reflects the healing abilities of the plant. Since ancient times, people who loved to start wars have used the plant to alleviate the plight of the wounded, as it promoted more successful healing of bodily wounds and the restoration of the integrity of broken bones.
However, even if the plant did not possess medicinal properties, its appearance would perfectly match the Latin word "solidago".

Of more than a hundred species of plants, humans use only a few species for medicinal purposes, including such as:
* Common goldenrod
* Canadian goldenrod
* Giant goldenrod
* Daurian goldenrod

What is Goldenrod rich in
The leaves of the plant are rich in phenolic compounds, phenol carboxylic acids, coumarins, saponins, tannins and many others.
Goldenrod flowers do not lag behind the leaves, in which, in addition to the listed substances contained in the leaves, other active substances are also present. For example, triterpenoids, which are organic oxygen-containing compounds that are of interest to physicians for the creation of new healing drugs due to their wide spectrum of biological action. They are also rich in dyes and essential oils.
Goldenrod fruits contain about fifteen (15) percent fatty oil.

Medicines based on phenolic compounds have antimicrobial, tonic, anti-inflammatory, astringent, choleretic and other properties.
Scientific and clinical experiments have shown the ability of Goldenrod extract to enhance urinary excretion, reducing edema in the body, including cerebral edema. Infusion of leaves and flowers regulate acid-base balance in the body, water-salt metabolism, improving kidney function.
