Basalt wool can be made from several rocks that are similar in chemical composition. These rocks include basanite, basalt, gabrodiabase, amphibolite, and their mixtures. Such fiber can be of two types: staple and continuous. These two types will differ in fiber diameter; in fact, this indicator will affect many characteristics of the future building.

Many summer residents prefer basalt fiber, which has a high degree of sound insulation and is completely not subject to combustion.

Mineral wool made from fiberglass is also non-combustible and sound-absorbing material. In addition, this material is very durable and resilient. All these qualities are achieved precisely due to the length of the fiber: for glass wool this indicator is five centimeters, and for basalt fiber it is one and a half centimeters. However, any type of mineral wool has a low degree of resistance to moisture and a significantly higher weight.

Insulating material such as expanded polystyrene is also quite popular. The main distinguishing features of this material: light weight, environmental friendliness and durability. Based on the modification, this filler can be either flame retardant or self-extinguishing.

Such material as polyurethane foam is also quite common. In this case, the properties of thermal insulation will be significantly increased, this circumstance also applies to the properties of waterproofing. This filler is also hardly flammable, and is also resistant to both biological and chemical factors. However, such structures will have a small thickness, but at the same time they will be lighter and much more durable than other options for sandwich panels.

The choice of sandwich panel filler should directly depend on the basic requirements for the future construction.

Based on the external profile, several types of sandwich panels should be distinguished: smooth or corrugated on both sides, profiled on one side, as well as decorative profiled: log or siding.

Roof panels that are smooth on both sides are most often used to provide additional insulation to the roof. Shirring can also take on decorative functions. The main development of wall and roof panels is in the system of locks and stiffness parameters. This circumstance is due to the various loads that fall on the roof and walls.
