However, summer residents who cannot boast of the impressive size of their own land should not be discouraged either - and they have the opportunity to make their site brighter and more attractive! Alpine slide represents a spectacular landscape composition, which is an extremely successful imitation of a mountain landscape. In the very center of such hills, a group of small pebbles or one large stone usually rises, and squat shrubs, stunted flowers and many different ornamental plants are planted on their slopes.
To create an alpine slide does not require too much space, however, in order for it to turn out bright and original, you will have to use all your imagination and spend a certain amount of funds to purchase the necessary plants. Do not forget about the sense of proportion, so that the alpine slide does not turn into a gaudy, lurid flower bed. Of the tree species, Japanese spiraea, various types of juniper, shrub St. John's wort, dwarf barberry, ground cover roses and thuja are best suited for creating such a slide, and among ground cover plants, bells, irises, hosta, phlox, heuchera, astilbe, primrose and daylilies.
Rockery
Rockery - a garden of stones, which is broken either on a flat surface or on a small hill. When choosing a place for its placement, it is important to consider that most of the plants planted in rockeries need reliable protection from strong winds and good sunlight. And one more important condition - any rockery should look as natural as possible, and the stones from which it is constructed should have a similar structure and appearance. Mossy pebbles will look especially impressive, and if there is space, you can build a small pond nearby. As for plants, coniferous and deciduous shrubs, as well as various ground cover plants, medicinal herbs, perennials and bulbous crops are usually planted in rockeries.
