When do indoor flowers need feeding?

As you know, home conditions are not considered natural for plants. Growing up on the suburban soil, they get everything they need from the soil, sometimes even without additional feeding.

For obvious reasons, plants cannot receive such fertilizers growing in a room. That the owner poured them into the pot is so glad). Therefore, it is necessary to feed indoor plants, and even more so flowers, if we want to get a good healthy flowering from them, much more often than you think it should be done.

When planting a plant in a fertilized nutrient medium and in a spacious pot, it must be borne in mind that it constantly pulls useful substances from the soil and needs new ones. It is a good habit for the indoor grower to transplant the plants from time to time into fresh potting soil with a new supply of nutrients. But in an amicable way, this should be done often. Very often, once every two to three months, and not once a year, as some growers believe. The plant does not need transplanting and feeding only when it is in a state of vegetative dormancy. And all the rest of the time these procedures, oh, how necessary it is.

These tips will help a novice grower understand that his home flowers are asking for help and additional feeding. This is:

• too slow growth of the plant during the period when it should develop at an accelerated pace;

• stretching flower stems in length;

• weak, dull appearance of elongated plant stems;

• lack of flowering;

• frequent diseases, poor immunity against them, yellowing of stems and leaves, throwing back the latter and other ailments.

Sugar benefits for plants

Why is sugar good for indoor (and not only) plants? By chemical laws, we know that this is a breakdown product into glucose and fructose. The second is not required for plants, but glucose is necessary for them, like air and water. Since it is glucose that gives plants the necessary energy for their respiration, for the assimilation of useful elements from the soil, for growth.

But for better and complete absorption of glucose, carbon dioxide is needed. Without it, sugar will turn into an assistant for the development of mold, rot and fungus on the plant's root system. Therefore, when giving the plant sugar to eat, add the EM preparation along with it as an additional feeding of the plants with carbon dioxide.

How are indoor flowers fed with sugar?

To feed the plant with sugar, dilute a tablespoon of it in half a liter of warm water. You can sprinkle the soil in the flower pot with sugar and pour water over it as usual. You need to make such dressings for indoor flowers once a month or two.

You may have a completely logical question - so maybe you should use pharmacy glucose, not sugar? We will answer. Yes, indeed it would be much better. Therefore, if it is possible to use pure glucose for plant nutrition, it is better to use it.
