Fuchsia graceful (lat. Fuchsia gracilis) - a bright flowering plant, which is a prominent representative of the Cyprus family.
Description
Fuchsia graceful is a beautifully flowering plant reaching a meter in height. Its oval-lanceolate green leaves, equipped with bizarre teeth at the edges, reach a length of five to six centimeters and boast the presence of red petioles and slightly reddish veins.
The drooping flowers of graceful fuchsia are endowed with purple-red corollas and incomparable sepals of bright red color, while they all gather in luxurious racemose inflorescences.
Growing and caring
Fuchsia graceful boasts a fairly high cold resistance - for this valuable quality it is especially loved by many plant breeders. And this plant is also very unpretentious in care.
In indoor conditions, beautiful fuchsia feels great both on the eastern or northern, and sometimes on the western windows. True, if the flower will be placed on the west or east side, it is necessary to provide it with proper shading from the bright sun in summer.
Soils for growing graceful fuchsia need rather loose and slightly acidic. Hydroponics are best suited for these purposes, or they include vermiculite, as well as coconut fiber or peat, purchased soil mixtures.
In order for fuchsia to always please with good flowering, once a year it should be transplanted into larger containers, and every spring it should be carefully trimmed and, of course, pinched. If the wilting of flowers is noticed, they must be promptly removed, and the fuchsia itself is then fed with high-quality mineral fertilizer. This procedure can be repeated every couple of weeks.
During the flowering period, graceful fuchsia must be watered abundantly and often sprayed, in addition, the plant does not interfere with weekly feeding with various fertilizers - not only mineral, but also any organic. However, in the latter case, it is important not to overdo it with the dosage, otherwise it can contribute to excessive proliferation of the leaf mass and a significant decrease in flowering. It is also important to take into account that the graceful blooming fuchsia is extremely intolerant of excessive anxiety - a sharp change in conditions of detention, as well as rearrangement or drafts, can lead to the fall of flower buds. By the way, in order for the beautiful fuchsia not to waste vitality in vain, all fading flowers must be cut off in time.
In winter, graceful fuchsia begins a period of rest - in the cold season, its watering is limited to moderate, and the ideal temperature for keeping a beautiful flower in this case is plus five degrees. If you do not observe this winter dormant period, in warm rooms with abundant watering, graceful fuchsia will quickly fade. And it can also quickly fade with excessive feeding, too little watering, or a lack of light during the period of its intensive growth.
As for the reproduction of graceful fuchsia, it successfully occurs by rooting its cuttings in water or in the sand.
Of the diseases, graceful fuchsia is most often affected by rust, and from pests - ticks, weevils, whiteflies or aphids. In the case of rust, the use of various fungicides, used to combat all kinds of fungal ailments, is excellent, and ticks, weevils or aphids will not be difficult to destroy with the help of Gaupsin or Aktelik, which is non-toxic to humans. And to fight whiteflies, you will have to resort to the help of insecticides from the group of neurotoxins, spending two doses of the agent under the roots and one dose for the leaves. In addition, to prevent the spread of harmful whiteflies, fuchsia affected by them should be isolated from other plants.
