Siberian Buzulnik (lat. Ligularia sibirica) - an ornamental and medicinal plant belonging to the large Astrovye family. It is a type species of the genus Buzulnik. It occurs naturally in European countries, as well as on the territory of the Russian Federation, to be more precise, in Siberia. Typical habitats are coastal areas of water bodies, marshy meadows, lowlands with humus soils and foothills. Relatively recently, he became one of the representatives of the Red Book of the Tver region.
Characteristics of culture
Siberian Buzulnik is represented by perennial herbaceous plants up to 1.5 m high, equipped with a short rhizome and an erect weakly branched stem with pronounced grooves along the entire surface. The foliage of the culture in question is divided into two types. The lower foliage is wide, large, heart-shaped, sits on petioles. Stem foliage of the stem is enveloping, slightly smaller in size than the lower one. The upper foliage, in turn, is lanceolate, covered with scales, has a brown color with a red undertone.
Flowers are numerous, collected in baskets, which are formed in huge numbers. Baskets are collected in inflorescences, represented by a lush brush. It should be noted that the flowers are endowed with a single-row wrapper, the leaves of which have a linear shape. By the way, the baskets of the Siberian buzulnik are very attractive, because the marginal flowers are golden in color. Flowering is long, begins in early - mid-July and ends in early autumn, usually in the second decade of September. The fruit is represented by an ovoid achene, equipped with a grayish-white tuft.
Currently, 4 subspecies of Siberian Buzulnik are distinguished, all of them have minor differences. So, the subspecies subsp. sibirica has bare or veined foliage; subspecies subsp. lydiae has densely pubescent foliage that gives the plants a special flavor. All subspecies and the main type are used in ornamental gardening, however, infrequently. For unknown reasons, gardeners do not give preference to the culture in question, although it can boast of high decorativeness and, most importantly, unpretentiousness.
Application in medicine
Siberian Buzulnik is most often used in anti-obesity camps. Of course, just collecting the problem does not solve the problem, but it takes an active part in the complex. As you know, Siberian buzulnik reduces appetite. At the same time, the chemical composition of this culture has not yet been thoroughly studied, but during its use, no side effects have been identified, except that individual intolerance, which, in turn, is rare.
To reduce appetite, Siberian buzulnik is recommended to be used as part of mixtures or separately in the form of an infusion, which is prepared as follows: a tablespoon of dry grass (flowers are no exception) is poured with a glass of boiling water and insisted for half an hour, after which it is filtered through cheesecloth or a fine strainer and take half a glass several times a day before meals. If the craving for food is not minimized, you can double the portion of the infusion, but do it gradually, that is, first 120 ml, then 130 ml, etc.
It should also be noted that a similarly prepared infusion is very effective against feelings of anxiety, prolonged depression and after severe stress. It soothes, relieves fears and anxiety, improves mood. And it is also recommended to use the infusion as a lotion, that is, moisten a cotton pad in it and apply it to damage to the skin. Such lotions will speed up the healing process of not too deep wounds and cuts.
