Arnebia dense-flowered (lat. Arnebia densiflora) - a herbaceous decorative perennial of the genus Arnebia (lat. Arnebia) from the Borage family (lat.boraginaceae). Differs in bright yellow dense inflorescences of numerous funnel-shaped flowers and pubescence of all aerial parts of the plant. Under natural conditions, it prefers to grow on stony dry soils, exposed to sunlight. The plant has other names, for example,

What's in your name
Arnebia dense-flowered was first described in 1847 by the honorary professor of botany Karl Friedrich von Ledebourg (1785-08-07 - 1851-04-07), a German scientist who served in Russia, where he founded the first Russian school of florists and taxonomists.
Working on the taxonomy of the Russian plant world, Karl Friedrich von Ledebour and two of his students made a 9-month expedition across Altai, where they collected almost 1600 plant species, of which about 400 species were previously unknown to botanists. The luxuriously illustrated 4-volume "Flora of Altai", written by Karl von Ledebourg and published in Stuttgart in Latin, was a great event in the field of botany. To this day, this is, perhaps, the only multivolume collection about the plant world of Russia, containing a description of more than 6, 5 thousand plant species.
In one of his works with a very long title ("Flora Rossica sive Enumeratio Plantarium in Totus Imperii Rossici Provincii Europaeis Asiaticis et Americanis hucusque Observatarum"), Arnebia was first described by the scientist. True, he had other names for it: “
Macrotomia densiflora" or"
Lithospermum densiflorum ”, Which today are synonymous with the botanical Latin name“Arnebia densiflora”, given to the plant later.
The Latin word "Arnebia", with which the names of all plant species of the genus Arnebia begin, is borrowed from the Arabic language, in which this plant is called "shagara el erneb", which means "rabbit tree". The plant owes this name to its pubescence, which is present on the stem, leaves, bracts and even on the outside of the flower tube.
The specific epithet "densiflora" literally means "dense flowers" from Latin and is translated into Russian as "dense flowers", reflecting the density or density of flowers in the yellow decorative inflorescence of Ernebia.
Description
From the thick powerful tree roots of Ernebia dense-flowered, a basal rosette of lanceolate leaves rises above the ground, the length of which varies from 10 to 15 centimeters. From the outlet into the world is a strong erect leafy stem-peduncle with a height of 25 to 40 centimeters. The leaves on the stem are more modest in size than the basal, narrow-lanceolate and pointed-nosed. The stem and leaves are covered with whitish hairs, giving the plant a gray-green color and making the plant look like an eared rabbit.
From May to August, inflorescences bloom at the tops of the peduncles, formed by yellow funnel-shaped flowers, tightly pressed against each other. Greenish sepals covered with hairs. The funnel of the flower ends with curved edges, forming 5 (five) petals with an oval edge. The color of the tube and petals includes various shades of yellow. The appearance of the inflorescence resembles the Phlox plant in a rougher version (in Phlox, the inflorescences look softer).
The fruit of the plant is sharp-nosed nuts.
Arnebia dense-flowered - a child of rocky or gravelly Turkish and Greek slopes, loves sunny places and dry soil. Used in culture for rocky gardens around the world.

Arnebia
Arnebia (lat.Arnebia) - a genus of surprisingly many-faced herbaceous plants of the Borage family (Latin Boraginaceae). Unpretentiousness to the conditions of life allows Arnebia to grow up in the most disadvantaged places on the planet. This does not prevent the plant from being very decorative, having simple, often densely pubescent leaves, and relatively small flowers, the corollas of which are most often yellow, purple, or combining both of these shades.
Egeria Dense
Egeria dense often also called Elodea dense, as well as Brazilian Elodea and large-flowered Elodea. In Latin, the name of this plant can sound like this: Egeria densa, Elodea densa, Anacharis densa. This plant should be classified as Vodokrasovye.
Arnebia Is Beautiful
Arnebia beautiful (lat.Arnebia pulchra) - a spectacular herbaceous perennial of the genus Arnebia (Latin Arnebia), which is part of the Borage family (Latin Boraginaceae). It grows in poor soils with good water permeability. Large yellow flowers form a picturesque inflorescence against the background of green fleshy leaves covered with light pubescence.
Arnebia Recumbent
Arnebia recumbent (lat.Arnebia decumbens) - a herbaceous creeping annual of the genus Arnebia (Latin Arnebia), ranked by botanists in the Borage family (Latin Boraginaceae). It differs from other species in its short life period (annual plant) and in its recumbent habits, preferring not to come off high from the surface of the earth.
Egeria Dense - Water Beauty
Egeria dense is often called Brazilian, dense, and also large-flowered Elodea. In nature, it is found mainly in South America - in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. This beauty also took root well in a number of subtropical and moderately warm regions - in North America, Africa, Europe, New Zealand, Australia and Asia. In our latitudes, dense egeria can only be used as a seasonal plant, sending it to winter in aquariums
