Mineral fertilizers

In vegetable growing, the use of mineral fertilizers occurs very often. But for such a use in growing crops to be useful and effective, certain knowledge is required regarding their varieties, compositions and the presence of important elements in them

In addition, it is important to take into account the time, methods and volumes of applying such funds to the soil, paying attention to its type and composition, as well as the plant located on the site. Mineral fertilizers are sold in specialized packages, which are created in such a way that the drug can be stored in them for a long time and with high quality. The label includes the name of the fertilizer and the percentage of nutrients. Based on this indicator, the amount of fertilization in the ground on the site is calculated. As an example, potassium salt contains approximately forty percent oxidized potassium. In other words, if you add one hundred grams of the product to the soil, then forty grams of potassium itself will be in it.

According to the type and volume of nutrient content, mineral fertilizers can be divided into nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus fertilizers. In addition, they can be simple (one major nutrient) or complex (several different components).

About phosphate fertilizers

Among the phosphate fertilizers, the most common are phosphate rock and superphosphate. The second option is used by summer residents much more often, since it has been tested for more than a dozen years of use in vegetable gardens and orchards. Such a tool has the form of granules, and the composition of phosphorus in it is determined by a little less than fifty percent. The timing of adding funds to the land depends on the plant that is grown in the garden. However, in most cases, superphosphate is classified as an autumn-type fertilizer that is added to the soil during digging during this period of the year. Thus, phosphorus has a good effect on the formation of the root system in different crops, which favorably affects their wintering.

During the addition of such preparations in spring, the number of flower buds can be increased, which activates the formation of fruits. But you should not apply phosphorus fertilizers in combination with lime, since it inhibits the absorption of the substance in the form of phosphorus by the root system. The calculation of fertilization in the soil is indicated on the package. Liquid feeding will help the plant to absorb the components faster and better. To create it, superphosphate is dissolved in water and left for seventy-two hours. It is necessary to water the soil with the liquid component of the solution, but the remaining sediment can be added to the compost.

Potassium based fertilizers

Potassium is necessary for plants to increase resistance to negative environmental conditions and pests. Scientists have long proven that such agents can significantly reduce the likelihood of contamination of crops with fungal-type diseases. However, such fertilizers are washed out very quickly after the last rain, which is why it is required to apply preparations regularly, and sometimes they are also sprayed with plant leaves.

As a rule, summer residents apply potash fertilizers together with phosphorus agents. But don't add them where there is nitrogen content. Potassium helps the roots to increase the amount of carbohydrates in them, due to which mycorrhiza is formed, and nitrogen can begin to form its compounds.

For areas with drought, potassium sulfate in the form of granules is suitable as a top dressing. At the same time, in regions where it rains very often, they use potassium chloride or potassium nitrate. Do not put the product very close to the plant stem. The indentation should be about fifteen or twenty centimeters.

Nitrogen based fertilizers

Nitrogen fertilizers in the garden are usually used in the spring season. As such procedures, the introduction of any saltpeter, urea, azophoska is well suited. Ammonium nitrate has the highest nitrogen content in its composition. Here he is in about one third of the facility. However, when fertilizing the soil, it is worth remembering that it oxidizes the soil, for which a deoxidizer in the form of lime is added with it.

You cannot apply such fertilizers together with phosphorus-based products. In summer and spring, based on nitrogen fertilizers, it is better to create a liquid solution, which you then need to water the plants with. Many solutions can be additionally sprayed on the leaves.
