Feeding cucumbers is an important part of growing this type of vegetables. Cucumbers are very susceptible to soil fertility.
Correct cultivation of cucumbers
It is worth noting that in order to get a good harvest, it is necessary to use regular feeding of cucumbers. For digging, it is necessary to apply two-thirds of the fertilizer, and the remaining third should be used with pre-sowing loosening of the earth or when sowing in a row, as well as when feeding.
As for the cultivation of the seedlings themselves, then the room must be constantly maintained at a temperature of 20-22 degrees Celsius. Water for irrigation should be used at about the same temperature. Then you should use the first top dressing two weeks later, as the first shoots appear. After that, a few days before the seedlings are planted, it is necessary to feed one more time. In the first case, chicken droppings or mullein are suitable, and the second time you should add a little potassium, chloride or sulfate, ammonium nitrate and superphosphate.
In the fall, you should dig up or plow the entire area; in the spring, when digging, you should add the following: manure or compost, a mixture of ammonium nitrate, superphosphate and potassium-magnesia.
Organic fertilizers for cucumbers
It should be noted that it is organic fertilizers that will have the most beneficial effect on both the growth and development of the plant. This type of fertilizer will make the arable soil layer warmer, which in turn will entail a faster emergence of seedlings and an intensive development of the entire root system as a whole. In addition, the acidity of podzolic soils will be reduced, the root and surface layer of the air will be enriched with carbon dioxide, which is also very good for cucumbers, because they have creeping lashes.
Actually, semi-rotted manure is most often used as the main organic fertilizer. When sowing seeds, it should be placed in the rows, and when planting seedlings, in the holes. In addition, spent greenhouse soil is perfect for such purposes.
Mineral fertilizers for cucumbers
Vegetables such as cucumbers are very sensitive to the concentration of the soil solution, which is especially true for young cucumbers. It is for this reason that mineral fertilizers in a single form should be applied only for plants that are grown on very fertile soils. These fertilizers can be used for plowing both in rows and in holes. The most important role in accelerating fruiting is assigned to phosphorus. Phosphate fertilizers should be applied in two layers, while the top layer should be applied when sowing seeds, for this granular superphosphate is used. If you want to use the so-called powdered superphosphate, then it should be mixed with humus. When superphosphate is added to the bottom layer, it will also have to be mixed with organic fertilizers.
Secrets of feeding cucumbers
If you grow plants in sandy loam soils, then the plants are often deficient in magnesium. Therefore, magnesium fertilizers will not only increase the degree of fertility, but also speed up these processes.
The use of a duo of mineral and organic fertilizers will not only reduce the total concentration of salt in the soil, but will also significantly reduce the negative effects of chlorine, and will also enhance a number of microbiological processes in the soil.
Top dressing with phosphorus will lead to a significant lengthening of the fruiting period. Superphosphate should be used before watering and rain, however, the best way would be to combine with irrigation water. Chlorine has a negative effect on cucumbers, so feeding with potassium nitrate will be a good choice if the plants are adequately supplied with phosphorus. Plants need potassium if lighting is not sufficient. If everything is in order with the lighting, just like with phosphorus and potassium, then it is worth using nitrogen fertilizers. Such feeding should be carried out before the beginning of the fruiting period and combined with feeding with potassium, when fruiting is already in full swing, or when, on the contrary, it dies out.

Organic Fertilizers: Basic Rules Of Use
Growing a rich crop without the use of organic fertilizers, especially on poor or depleted soils, will be extremely problematic. This natural wealth is extremely unattractive in appearance, but its properties are in many ways superior to those of artificial counterparts. They contain all the nutrients required by plants, improve the quality of the soil and improve its structure, and also raise the level of carbon dioxide required for garden crops in the ground. Moreover, it was noticed that the presence of organic fertilizers
How To Distinguish Salad Cucumbers From Pickled Cucumbers?
Everyone knows what cucumbers look like. But does everyone know how to distinguish salad cucumbers from pickled ones? By the way, the ability to identify certain qualities of cucumbers by their appearance is a very valuable skill, because not always what we expected grows from purchased seeds. How to distinguish salad cucumbers from their counterparts intended for pickling? It turns out that this can be done on several grounds at once
Mineral Fertilizers
In vegetable growing, the use of mineral fertilizers occurs very often. But in order for such use in the cultivation of crops to be useful and effective, certain knowledge is required regarding their varieties, compositions and the presence of important elements in them
Organic Fertilizers For Feeding Seedlings
Very soon the moment will come when the seedlings will need to be relocated to beds in the open field or in a greenhouse. And the success of this enterprise largely depends on how strong and developed a plant the seed planted in indoor conditions has become. Helping the seedlings grow strong and healthy is within the power of a gardener. And the secret lies in the timely feeding of seedlings
Fertilizing For Cucumbers At The Fruiting Stage
In order to get an excellent harvest, it makes sense to feed cucumbers not only during their flowering - feeding at the fruiting stage will also serve well, because such nutrition is mainly aimed at the full formation of fruits. Healthy, strong and crispy cucumbers are not the dream of any summer resident? Such cucumbers are good in themselves, and in salad and for pickling are good! What can be used to feed this extremely popular crop at the fruiting stage?
