The basics of Japanese bedroom design have been preserved since ancient times and are still relevant today. The peculiarity of the arrangement of furniture, minimalism and the use of light - everything is aimed at high quality sleep and protection from stress

Eastern exoticism in the interior can be as rich and luxurious as in the palace of the Sultan, or it can be the complete opposite, i.e. Japanese minimalism. The second option impresses many due to the fact that the room becomes free from an abundance of furniture and decor items. It is filled with light and special meaning. In addition, the functional load on the room is reduced, and if it is a bedroom, then fast falling asleep and easy awakening are guaranteed. A Japanese-style bedroom is an opportunity to get rid of insomnia and the pressure of daily stress.

Why is it so empty?

Of course, the emptiness of Japanese design has a hidden meaning. The philosophy of the interior boils down to the opinion that a person should not forget about his own nature. Harmony in the soul is created by the free movement of energy in the room, and the luxurious and rich interior, replete with details, interferes with the positive impact of space. The bedroom should contain only those items that cannot be dispensed with.

It's no secret that Japan's architecture differs greatly from European norms. This fact makes it difficult to accurately repeat the oriental interior and fans of minimalism can be content with little. But compared to what the average bedroom looks like, a successful imitation of the Japanese style will satisfy the tastes of the most demanding customer. Of course, you can achieve maximum similarity and build a traditional Japanese house with sliding walls on a suburban area.

Natural finishes and neutrals

Feeling an irresistible desire to join nature through the Japanese philosophy of home design and at the same time wanting to save money, you can adapt a standard city apartment for this purpose. The easiest way to start is in the bedroom. It is important to adhere to simple rules here: a minimum of furniture and a maximum of natural finishing materials. Plus, you need to maintain the unique style of interior items and decor.

On the wall, you can place a picture or panel depicting sakura or traditional Japanese landscapes, hieroglyphs and graphics. In a floor vase made of natural materials, laconic branches or dried tall plants will look good. If you have a console, it can be decorated with traditional ikebana or bonsai trees.

Having at your disposal a one-room apartment, where you need to allocate space for sleeping and working, turning to the Japanese style will be the most correct. Traditionally, there should be a chest in the room, in which bedding will be hidden in the daytime.

The color scheme should be quite strict, it is allowed to use beige, white and pistachio tones. Graphical black sets the accents. It is advisable to use exclusively environmentally friendly materials for everything: wallpaper, paint, flooring, textiles.

No elevations

The sleeping place for the Japanese is always low in height, which gives the impression of the absence of a bed frame. There are bedside tables on both sides of the bed, but they can be replaced with a single chest of drawers. Additionally, a wardrobe is installed and an obligatory element - a screen, behind which it is convenient to change clothes or work. It is sometimes placed behind the head of the bed. In this case, artificial niches should be created so that all furniture can be sunk into the walls.

And finally, it is worth noting that the lighting of a Japanese-style bedroom should be muted, but at the same time there should be a lot of light sources.
