In the courtyard of the house where I now live, there is an abundance of plants, among which there are those whose names I do not know yet. But there are also old acquaintances who never cease to amaze with their picturesqueness, generosity and pleasant aromas. In addition, living far from home, it is always nice to meet those who are familiar to you, nice and friendly
We checked into a new apartment late in the evening. At the entrance to the entrance we were greeted by a large snail, crawling out of the dense thickets of bushes on the lawn and looking at us friendly with its horned muzzle, boldly sticking out of the elegant house. At that moment there was no time for filming, and I never saw the snail again. Apparently, she decided to confine herself to one greeting. True, instead of a snail, a green frog once jumped out onto the path. But she turned out to be less welcoming, darting fearfully into the protective denseness of the bushes. Besides, you will not surprise me with frogs, since a whole pond of loud-throated frogs is located along the road leading to my Russian house in the village. And I started a conversation not about the mobile inhabitants of the Thai city of Pattaya, but about plants. Among the huge variety of flora of our yard, such woody plants as Coconut Palm, Plumeria Blunt and Araucaria stand out.
Coconut palm
The coconut palm tree freely spread its spectacular large fan-shaped leaves, creating a picturesque crown of a relatively low tree. The most amazing thing is that on the Palm there are bunches of large fruits of a rather ripe appearance, ready to fall down at any moment.
The sight of coconuts mesmerized and beckoned to itself with the anticipation of a tonic coconut drink and a layer of milky color, giving, when eaten, a whole bunch of aromas and a pleasant sensation of a fatty nutty component. True, the fact that a palm tree with large fruits stood next to a pedestrian cobbled path along which adults walked and children ran, causing involuntary fear. Because, according to the stories of excursion guides, the country loses up to a hundred people annually, who are victims of coconuts falling from the Palm.
Apparently, the service that monitors order in this Garden of Eden also felt the threat of the Coconut Palm, and therefore after a couple of days I did not notice the coconuts on the tree. Only this picture remains in memory, on which mouth-watering clusters of tropical fruits are visible.
Plumeria blunt
This beautiful tropical tree, bearing the name of the French traveler monk and naturalist Charles Plumier, received its specific epithet "dull" not for its mental abilities, but for the shape of its large leaves, which do not end with a sharp nose, as happens with the leaves of other species of the genus Plumeria. but in an even semicircle.
Tubular flowers, forming umbrella-shaped inflorescences, exude a light pleasant aroma. At first glance, it seems that the Creator has deprived the flowers of Plumeria of their reproductive elements: pistil and stamens. But, as often happens, the first glance turns out to be mistaken, since the miniature size of the pistil and stamens, not exceeding one and a half millimeters in length, allow them to safely hide in a two-centimeter flower tube. Not every insect is capable of cooperating with Plumeria.
The local population actively uses Plumeria flowers to decorate their homes. Craftsmen weave elegant necklaces from flowers, offering them to tourists for a small fee.
Live Christmas tree - Araucaria
There are several Araucaria in our garden, which charmed me even in my last visit to this amazing country with their unusual needles, which differ from the needles of our Siberian evergreen beauties. Thin-stemmed trees are clearly still young, so cones with edible nuts are not visible on them yet. But, surprisingly beautiful branches of Araucaria do not allow you to pass by indifferently. I had to capture them on my phone in order to share the beauty of the southern ephedra with the inhabitants of the community called "Asienda".

The Best Plants For Rock Gardens
If earlier alpine slides and rocky gardens seemed to many of us something outlandish, now it is not such a rarity, and even in the most ordinary summer cottages. But some summer residents sometimes do not get a rock garden at all, but an ordinary slide among the stones. And all because of the inability to choose the right plants for these purposes! Support Structures For Climbing Plants
When planting vines or climbing roses, there is a need for supporting the plant structures. Previously, wooden supports were used for these purposes, which served 2-3 seasons. In the age of technological progress, new durable materials have appeared. What types of support are currently in use?
