How to grow mushrooms in the country?

I remember that when I was still a young granddaughter, I came to the country house of my grandfather, a great jack of all trades, an excellent gardener, and we played with him the game "what grandfather does not have in the garden." Most often in this game, I lost to him. Since everything grew naturally in the garden with my grandfather! I called the garden or horticultural crops that I knew, and my grandfather replied vilely - it grows, it is, it didn’t hit. And so at some point I ask my grandfather a question in store, in the hope that he will definitely get his perplexed look and the longed-for answer to him: "But this is really, granddaughter, I am not growing up."

Forest mushrooms on their plot of land

And the question to my grandfather was about whether edible mushrooms grow on his garden plot? So that you can easily cut them off with a knife and fry potatoes with them without going into the forest specifically for such a thing. Imagine my surprise when my grandfather silently led me to the far section of the garden and on a darkened piece of land covered with moss and pine needles, I saw how strong … mushrooms were bulging out of it. When I grew up, I realized that, indeed, there is a very real opportunity to grow natural mushrooms in my dacha.

Undoubtedly, forest mushrooms are the most delicious, aromatic, healthiest natural products. They are rich in useful microelements, vegetable protein, fats. But it is not always possible to go out into the forest to pick mushrooms. And the restless spirit of the gardener attracts to new exploits. So why not try to really grow a mushroom plot in your garden?

Alas, just like that, a forest mushroom will not grow in a garden bed, even if it is well fertilized. The mushroom needs first of all … a tree. Better two or three, as in a small grove. The mycelium penetrates into the roots of trees and thus grows and exists. Mushrooms nourish trees, give them antibiotics to resist diseases, and the tree, in turn, nourishes the mycelium, protecting the soil where it grows from drought, giving it mineral fertilizing. So, you can grow mushrooms at your dacha and get a small, but stable mushroom harvest in several ways.

The main requirement when breeding chanterelles, milk mushrooms, porcini mushrooms, aspen mushrooms, boletus and other forest mushrooms on your plot of land is not to breed mycelium near garden crops, as well as fruit trees and berries.

The mycelium should grow like an island on a separate piece of land in your garden, among trees of neutral deciduous or conifers.

Overripe forest mushrooms need to be crushed into dust, add a spoonful of flour, a spoonful of gelatin to them. The mixture should be spread out under mature neutral trees in the garden and watered with plenty of water. The spores of the fungi will germinate and form the root system of the mycelium. It will be possible to wait for a real mushroom harvest in this place after two summer cottages.

A very simple way to harvest for the next season. You need to take young forest mushrooms, chop them and bury them under the trees, water them. If the ground in this place is well moistened next year, then the growth of mushrooms will not slow down. It is also worth scattering pieces of collected young mushrooms in the forest under the trees in your garden in rainy weather; on top they need to be sprinkled with fallen leaves from the trees. In this case, mushrooms will also form and grow for the next summer season.

But those who want to plant butter oil in their summer cottage or honey agaric will have to work hard. In this case, you need to transplant … a tree from the forest, along with the mycelium. To do this, notice small pines or spruces, around which every autumn you can collect a good harvest of boletus or honey agarics. They need to be carefully dug up and planted in a place prepared in advance in the country. Mushrooms, namely boletus, prefer limestone soils, so you have to provide them with mushrooms. They also like to grow in the sun, but so that its rays are not straight.

It is in such a place that a pine tree should be planted in your garden. Do not worry, a pine tree, if it is young, tolerates moving to a new place of residence quite comfortably. Water the pine and mycelium around it regularly and you will be provided with an evergreen tree on the site and boletus under it every year. Moreover, boletus will delight their owners with seedlings from May to September.
