Soil treatment

Before sowing seeds, the land is cultivated. This blocks the possibility of damage to seedlings by fungal, bacterial infections that may be present in the soil. 1-3 days before sowing, spill the soil with Alirin-B or Gamair fungicide.

Seed treatment

Before sowing, cucumber seeds are soaked in solutions that improve disease resistance. Used Fitosporin-M or Trichoderma Veride-471, Bactofit, Sporobacterin. The soaking time depends on the type of preparation and is 1-6 hours.

Processing cucumbers at the time of planting

From diseases, a planting hole is spilled with Fitosporin-M (5 g per 10 l of water) or Baktofit (20 ml per 10 l of water), 100-200 ml per hole. Repeat after 15-20 days, under the root of the plants. Long-term protection is created by the fungicidal preparation Previkur Energy (2 ml per 2 l). If not added to the wells, then it can be applied after sowing the seeds 2 weeks after germination.

Proactive actions help eliminate the risk of problems. In case of damage to any disease, timely measures taken and their frequency help to maintain health and save the harvest. Let's talk about common troubles encountered in cucumber beds.

Powdery mildew on cucumbers

High humidity, unstable temperatures provoke the development of powdery mildew. The fruits become smaller, lose their juiciness, the leaves dry out. In open beds, this disease reduces the yield by 30-40%, in greenhouses by 60%. The fight against powdery mildew consists in spraying, I will list effective drugs.

• Alirin-B for the treatment of open beds is diluted at the rate of 1 tablet + 1 l of water, for the greenhouse - with a lower concentration (0.5 tab. + 1 l);

• Sporobacterin, Topaz, Tiltom can be used in any phase of the growing season, including seedlings that have more than four leaves;

• Fitosporin and Baktofit work well in greenhouses, they are diluted with 1 g + 10 l and 10 ml + 10 l, respectively.

You can do without chemistry, make a soda solution: one without a slide, tsp. baking soda + 1 liter of water + 1 tbsp. l. liquid soap. The affected lashes are sprayed with this remedy.

Downy mildew or downy mildew

The disease progresses rapidly and leads to loss of yield: leaves fall off, buds do not set, fruits do not ripen. It occurs from prolonged contact of shoots with water (dew, drops that do not dry on the leaves for more than 6 hours).

Preventive spraying avoids the trouble. Taking immediate action at the first sign of peronosporosis helps to save the plants. What to do from downy mildew?

1. In the open field against downy mildew, Consento (20 ml + 5 l of water), Fitosporin-M (2 g + 10 l), Gamair (10 tablets + 10 l of water), Trichoderma Veride (30 g + 10 l of water) are used). The same drugs are suitable for prophylaxis. Spraying is done two to three times with an interval of 10 days. Consento and Fitosporin, when the lash grows 1-1.5 m. Gamair, Trichoderma can be applied during the flowering / fruiting period.

2. In the greenhouse, two-component fungicide Previkur Energy is taken for processing. For prevention, the seedlings are sprayed for the first time 3-5 days after planting, then every 2 weeks, only 3-4 times. For the solution, I use the proportions of 1 tbsp. l. + 10 liters of water. Kurzat, Strobi, Ridomil are also used. You can use a folk recipe based on garlic. The infusion is prepared for a day from 50 g of chopped cloves + 1 liter.water, then drain and add 9 liters.

White rot

Cucumbers begin to get sick with white rot in cold weather or in high humidity. Most often, the problem arises when growing cucumbers in a greenhouse. Inaction leads to decay of the whips and loss of crops. For prophylaxis, spraying should be carried out at the time of the appearance of the first buds with Gamair (10 l + 5-7 tablets), repeat after 15 days.

Bacteriosis

Favorable conditions for the progression of bacteria are heat and moisture. Bacteriosis reduces the yield by 50%. Three-time spraying with Abiga-Peak gives stable protection, the solution is prepared in 10 l + 50 g. This event helps against downy mildew and copperhead.
