Learning to prepare a dry type of fertilizer

So, we have considered the preparation of liquid fertilizers. Now let's start preparing dry (loose, thick) fertilizers. The main advantage of this type of soil fertilization is that nutrients enter the soil not only "for now", but also for the future, that is, these fertilizers allow you to restore the soil without the use of chemicals. But these fertilizers often take a long time to prepare.

Fertilizers from leaves and gras

Ash

We collect grass and leaves from the site (summer cottage, vegetable garden), then transfer to a place where all this can be burned. We burn it (be sure to observe the fire safety rules, be sure to keep a container of water near you, so that if something happens you can quickly extinguish an unwanted fire), then collect the ash, scatter it over the site and dig up the soil.

Compost

The best and cheapest fertilizer is compost. It requires more time and labor. We dig a hole, the size depends on how much fertilizer we need to get in the end, the depth should be 50-70 centimeters. We fall asleep in the prepared hole leaves, grass without seeds, you can add various food waste, pour water, cover and leave until spring, so that everything decays.

Composting is a lengthy process, but it can be accelerated by further improving the quality of fertilizers.

Option one: add manure or chicken droppings. Lay leaves with grass and manure in layers, moisten. To make the process go better, we launch earthworms into the pit. Cover and leave until rotting.

Option two: In addition to leaves and grass, you can add various food waste, such as peelings of potatoes, carrots, beet leaves, carrots, potato tops, seed husks. Also, as in the previous version, sprinkle all layers with manure, chicken droppings mixed with straw, sprinkle with water, cover and leave until tender.

Option three: compost can only be made from food waste. We collect everything that is possible in it: onion peels, cleaning from vegetables, sleeping tea leaves, cabbage leaves, apple and pear stubs. All this gathers in a heap and lies rotting for some time. The compost can then be used. By the way, for the next time it is not necessary to create a new heap, you can add waste here, from above, and get the compost from the bottom. This will result in almost continuous production.

Option four: water the compost heap with a solution of special bacteria.

In the spring, this fertilizer is applied to the ground before digging a vegetable garden. It perfectly replenishes nutrients, restores the surface layer, makes the soil lighter and looser, helps to retain moisture and prevents the soil from clumping, in general, improves the structure of the soil. In addition, compost perfectly drains loamy soils, making them suitable for growing various garden crops.

IMPORTANT: in no case add diseased plants, plants infected with various pests, cardboard, meat product residues, and citrus fruits to the pit - they increase the acidity of the soil.

Eggshell fertilizer

This fertilizer helps replenish calcium reserves in the soil. It is done very simply, it can be used both as a powder and as a liquid fertilizer. We start cooking: we thoroughly wash the eggshells, then dry them well. After that, grind in a coffee grinder and scatter over the garden or summer cottage.

In addition, liquid top dressing can be prepared from eggshells. To do this, add eggshell powder to the water and let it brew for an hour, after which the resulting liquid is poured over the plants.

By the way, in order to replenish calcium reserves, you can use not only egg shells. Powdered milk is perfect for these purposes. It just needs to be added to the hole before sowing the seeds, nothing else needs to be done with it.
