Timely feeding helps to grow a beautiful rose with abundant and long flowering. Check out the schedule for feeding roses during the growing season, starting in spring
Rose feeding rules
Competent fertilization contributes to the complete assimilation of nutrition. There are several rules for feeding that you need to know and follow. Smart action increases the efficiency of feeding and gives the desired result.
1. In the spring, food is brought in in the first two weeks after the removal of the shelter. The admissible air temperature is not less than + 10.
2. Feeding the bush should be combined with watering.
3. Fertilizer is poured not under the trunk, but stepping back 15-20 cm. It is advisable to make a groove in the ground along the near-trunk circle.
4. In hot dry weather, no feeding is performed.
5. It is recommended to alternate organics with mineral mixtures.
6. Roses are fertilized no more than 5 times per season.
7. In the heat, do not pour cold water, only warmed up in the sun.
8. Spraying on the crown is not carried out in the midst of a sunny day, the best time is evening, when the sun goes down to sunset.
9. In cool weather, feed only at the root.
10. Liquid dressing is useful in summer, ends in the second half of August.
11. Nitrogenous substances are not given since mid-August, and other food is used only in dry form, with embedding in the ground.
All dressings are divided into three types: summer, spring, autumn. Let's consider each seasonal job in detail.
How to feed a rose in spring
At the beginning of the season, our goal is to stimulate the growth of the bush. In the spring, the rose is fed with urea / urea. 1 tbsp is used for a bucket of water. l. The trunk circle is shed after pruning, warm weather is selected for work.
The second spring dressing for roses takes place two weeks after the first (mid-May). If the bush is older than three years, watering is done with a solution of nitroammophoska or diammophos (2 tsp + 10 liters of water). Organics are useful for young seedlings: fresh manure (1:10) or bird droppings (1:20). The infusion is used after a week of fermentation followed by dilution with water.
In spring, roses can be watered over the leaf with complex fertilizers: Zircon, Gloria, Epin (proportions on the package). Kemira, Agricola for roses, Fasco are working well.
Lazy flower growers are rescued by the universal drug Pokon / Pokon. This remedy is "long-lasting", was introduced once, and the action lasts the entire season.
Folk recipes perfectly stimulate growth, I'll tell you about the two simplest ones that love roses.
1. A liter can of onion peel is boiled for 15 minutes in 5 liters of water. After cooling with the solution, a near-trunk circle is spilled.
2. Dissolve a small briquette of live yeast (50 g) in 1 liter of warm water + 2-3 tbsp. l. Sahara. Leave for 1 day to ferment, add 5 liters of water and pour the plant under the root. About 1 liter per bush. The same effect will be from dry yeast: 1 sachet is needed for 5 liters.
How to feed a rose in summer
At the height of the season, fertilizers are applied on the leaf and at the root. This combination is well accepted by the plant. The bush assimilates nutrition more actively, bud formation increases, the quality of inflorescences increases.
Before flowering, the rose is fed under the root with an extract of superphosphate + potassium sulfate. For 5 liters of water, 1 tbsp is used. l. each ingredient. It should be insisted for 2-3 days, stirring occasionally.
In the bud formation phase, the rose is sprayed with urea (5 l + 1 tsp) or Crystalon (1 l + 2 tsp). During the flowering period, you can use the ready-made Kemira-Universal complex.
How to feed a rose in autumn
Bushes should get stronger by winter, recover after abundant flowering. Feeding takes place in September in a dry way, with nutrient mixtures embedded in the soil: 1 tbsp. l. potassium salt + 2 tbsp. l. superphosphate.
The specified amount is calculated for 1 sq. m. Potassium salt can be replaced with potassium sulfate (2 tsp) or monophosphate (1 tbsp).
Such feeding has a positive effect on the condition of the plant, strengthens the root system, and increases immunity. Autumn top dressing will help the bush safely survive the frosts and quickly grow into growth in the spring.
