Feeding cucumbers

To collect a rich harvest of cucumbers, it is not enough to set aside a highly fertile plot, generously filled with organic matter, for them. These vegetables are still water loaves. And abundant watering is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, water through the roots helps to deliver nutrients to all parts and organs of plants, but on the other hand, it flushes fertilizers from the beds. Therefore, it is recommended to feed the beds with cucumbers. But at the same time, you should adhere to a certain system

Three important rules for feeding

The first rule of healthy eating of cucumbers is simple to remember: you need to feed them often, but in small doses. Shock doses can harm landings. In addition, mineral and organic fertilizers should be alternated. Thanks to this regime, the earth will not accumulate salt.

When using organic solutions, they need to be allowed to brew well. Those who use poultry manure are advised to adhere to the ratio of fertilizer and water in the ratio of 1:20. Cow dung is diluted 1:10.

It would be a mistake to believe that mineral solutions, in contrast to organics, can be diluted with water and used immediately. The granules that are invisible to the eye should also be allowed enough time to dissolve. If this is a microbiological preparation in the form of a powder, all the more time must pass for the living bacteria to become active.

Another rule for feeding is that they are done after watering. Otherwise, there is a risk of burning the roots. It is also worth setting aside a day for these purposes when the weather is warm, dry.

Cucumber feeding mode

During the summer, the beds need to be fed four times:

• The fertilizer is used for the first time at the initial stage of flowering. To do this, take 1 table for 10 liters of water. l. nitrophosphate and 0.5 liters of organic infusion. For 1 sq. beds make 3 liters of the resulting mixture.

• The next feeding is carried out when the first ovaries are found. To do this, add another 1 teaspoon to the previous composition. l. potassium sulfate. This time, you will need 5 liters of top dressing per 1 square meter. the area of the beds.

• The next time feeding is carried out in another two weeks. To do this, a 10-liter bucket of water will need 1, 5 tables. l. nitrophosphate and magnesium sulfate, as well as 0.5 liters of manure infusion. Use 6-7 liters per 1 square meter.

• After another two weeks, 1 table is fed. l. nitrophosphate from 1 tsp. l. potassium sulfate and 0.5 liters of organic infusion per 10 liters of water. For every 1 sq. M. areas are used for 7-8 liters of the composition.

Effective folk recipes for dressing

When there is a lack of necessary fertilizers for feeding, you can use unconventional recipes. For example, herbal infusion will help out a lot. The best way to do this is to use nettles. If there is a shortage of nettle, the herbal mass is brought to the required volume with dandelions, woodlice, and rash. On average, 1 kg of raw materials requires a bucket of hot water. But it is more convenient to prepare such a "compote" in a barrel. The infusion is allowed to ferment. When feeding, it is filtered and diluted with water. For 1 sq. areas use 3 liters of liquid fertilizer.

Not so effective, but the infusion of onion peels is also useful. Another advantage of such feeding is the speed of preparation. To do this, a quarter of the bucket volume is filled with husks and filled with hot water. The infusion will be ready after a day. The consumption of such feeding is very large - 1 bucket per 2 square meters. beds.

Another product that will provide the cucumber beds with valuable fermentation products is bread. To do this, two-thirds of the bucket is filled with crushed crusts. The remaining volume is filled with water and left under the lid for a week. Before use, dilute with water in a ratio of 1: 3. Each plant will need 0.5 liters of nutrient fluid.

Compost is a good fertilizer aid. For this, a liter jar of a well-decomposed homogeneous mass is diluted with a bucket of water. Another faithful assistant to the gardener is wood or grass ash. To use it as a top dressing, a glass of the product is insisted for a day in a 10-liter container. Both types of dressings are used in the amount of 1 bucket per 1 square meter. the area set aside for cucumbers.
