Description
The date palm is a squat shrub or tree, equipped with numerous pinnately-separated leaves. The vast majority of trees have only one trunk, but sometimes you can find palms with several trunks.
The rather long leaves of this plant are equipped with sharp and very strong spines near the bases.
Little yellow flowers are collected in bizarre paniculate inflorescences. And the fruits of the date palm are in the shape of an elongated berry with a single bone.
Date trees begin to bear fruit approximately in the fourth year, however, the first output of marketable products in full is achieved only after five to six years. As a rule, eight to ten kilograms of harvest are harvested from each palm tree. And as soon as the age of the trees reaches thirteen years, their yield increases to sixty to eighty kilograms of dates from a palm tree. Such a high yield is characteristic of this crop for sixty to eighty years.
