A decoction prepared on the basis of the rhizomes of this plant, as well as an infusion of leaves of narrow-leaved cattail are indicated for use in colitis, diarrhea, gingivitis, stomatitis, dysentery and enterocolitis. As an external agent, the crushed leaves of this plant should be used: such leaves will contribute to the fastest healing of wounds, as well as stopping external bleeding. It is noteworthy that such healing agents have been used since ancient times.
It should be noted that baked rhizomes of narrow-leaved cattail are quite acceptable for use in food.
For rinsing with catarrhal sore throat, gingivitis and stomatitis, it is recommended to use the following very effective remedy based on this plant: to prepare such a healing agent, you will need to take from fifteen to twenty grams of crushed roots and rhizomes of narrow-leaved cattail for about one glass. The resulting healing mixture should first be boiled over a fairly low heat for ten to twelve minutes, after which this mixture is left to infuse for one hour and filtered very carefully. The resulting drug is taken not only in the form of rinsing for all of the above diseases, but also for angina from five to eight times a day, one or two tablespoons.
In addition, for angina, the following remedy based on this plant is also effective: for the preparation of such a healing agent, one tablespoon of dry crushed herbs is taken in a glass of boiling water. The resulting mixture based on narrow-leaved cattail is insisted for about two to three hours and taken four times a day, two tablespoons. If used correctly, this tool will be very effective.
