It should be noted that the leaves of this plant will fade over time, they will be either oblong or oblong-obovate, as well as dull. The flowers are tetrahedral, they are found singly at the ends of branches or stems, and these flowers are also on rather long pedicels. The calyx of bearded gentian is narrow bell-shaped, its length will be approximately twenty-three to twenty-seven millimeters, while it will be about one and a half times shorter than the corolla itself. The bloom of gentian bearded falls on the period from July to August. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the European part of Russia, as well as in the Arctic, in Central Asia, Western and Eastern Siberia and in the Okhotsk region of the Far East. For growth, this plant prefers meadows, forest edges, stony, meadow and steppe slopes, as well as wetlands, forest glades, sparse forests, shrubs and alkaline river banks both in the middle and upper mountain belts.

For medicinal purposes, it is recommended to use the flowers and grass of this plant. The presence of such valuable medicinal properties is explained by the content of essential oils, coumarins, alkaloids, tannins, xanthones, isocoparin, isoorienin, as well as the following carbohydrates in the gentian bearded, coumarins, alkaloids, and the following carbohydrates: sucrose, glucose and primverose. At the same time, xanthones, alkaloids and the following flavonoids will be found in the aerial part of this plant: cossein, thymanine, chrysoeriol, luteolin and apigenin.
In Tibetan and Mongolian medicine, the herb of this plant is considered one of the main drugs for various diseases of the hepatobiliary system, for cholecystitis, cystitis, liver diseases, which will be complicated by pneumonia. In Tibetan medicine, this plant is used as part of various complex preparations for acute endocarditis, diseases of the stomach and kidneys, septic conditions, as well as chronic and acute infections. In addition, such drugs are also effective in malignant tumors, laryngitis, malaria, neurasthenia and burns, as well as a means that will regulate metabolism. In Mongolian medicine, the valuable properties of this plant are used as antipyretic agents, which is especially true for infectious diseases. Moreover, in Chinese medicine, this plant is used as a tonic.
In Tibetan medicine, this plant is also recommended for use in cardiac neurosis, general neuroses, tachycardia, shortness of breath, nephritis and gout.
