After diseases that have hit garden plants, destroying them, as they say, pests, from the smallest to the largest, are in second place on the root, which also cause significant damage to the summer resident and his plantings. How to deal with this natural invasion? And what methods of destruction and prevention of the appearance of pests to use in your garden?
The right approach
As you know, plant diseases and damage by pests can collectively destroy the entire crop. Moreover, pests act sometimes much more skillfully and rather than viral and bacterial diseases of the plant.
Judge for yourself with a simple example. Gray rot on strawberries, if there is a high humidity in the air in the summer accompanying the disease, will kill the plant up to 30 percent. And the same moth pest, which threatens berry bushes, will destroy them up to 60 percent, regardless of any natural conditions.
To anticipate or destroy a pest on plants, it will not be enough just to spray them with any chemical that will kill them.
Effective protection of the garden is assumed by a skillful combination of both caring for it, and feeding, and approvals, and soil treatment, and the right choice of a variety that is resistant to the invasion of insects and diseases, and of course, the correct selection of a chemical and biological agent is required in each individual case. …
What should be the correct tillage?
The very first and important point that you need to pay attention to when caring for the garden and protecting it from pests is soil cultivation on it. After all, it is the soil in most cases that "supplies" future larvae and insects that will attack plants. The treatment of the soil will be correctly selected, insect pests will not develop in it.
In the fall (later), the site in the country should be dug up. In the summer, one should not forget about loosening the row spacing in the beds and flower beds, about loosening the soil under trees and shrubs. These techniques will destroy a large number of pests in the soil, anticipate some plant diseases and weed growth.
Weeds need to be dealt with rationally so that too many of them do not allow pests to develop and reproduce on the site.
The right fertilizer
Fertilizers in the garden and in the garden should not be scattered according to the principle "the more, the better." An experienced gardener uses them rationally and with care. For example, fertilizers containing potassium, phosphorus actually increase the resistance of plants to the effects of pests and diseases on them.
Excess nitrogen, for example, causes the plant's root and foliage systems to develop too quickly. In this connection, it quickly gives rise to young leaves and shoots, which pests adore so much.
Need to do pruning in the garden
Shrubs and trees in the garden should be pruned. Timely pruning is the prevention of pests on plants. They remove, and do it on time, branches that are diseased, dry, those that have already borne fruit, twisted or underdeveloped.
On such branches, the larvae of pests comfortably perch for the winter in order to pounce on the garden in the spring. You have to prune such branches in the fall and burn them behind the site.
Use traps
Do not forget about pest traps placed in the garden and vegetable garden. Traps give a good effect, helping to take on the lion's share of insects gnawing a cultivated plant, if it is not distracted by such a bait.
Traps include the following types:
• cans are hung on the apple tree during its flowering period, into which ordinary kvass is poured (from time to time it needs to be added) - moth butterflies fly to this bait;
• in spring, before flowering, around a fruit tree at a height of about a meter from the ground, a "trapping belt" is wrapped (it can be made of cloth and cardboard or paper), larvae and insects that have awakened from hibernation crawl under it, thinking that this is a secluded place - such belts will only have to be removed and destroyed along with the larvae crawling under them.
In the garden, during the ripening period of the crop, it is necessary to place traps between the beds, luring certain insects that infect cultivated plants.
Properly preparing the garden for winter
Autumn has come, the harvest is harvested. It's time to carefully prepare the garden for wintering. Protecting the garden from rodents plays an important role in this important event.
Wrap tree trunks with roofing felt or roofing felt to prevent rodents from getting to their bark. Place pine branches with the needles up under the bushes to solve the same problem.
When the rainy season ends in autumn, when frosty, the trunks of plum trees, apple trees, pear trees and cherries should be whitewashed. Firstly, this will protect them from the bright first too hot sunlight in the spring, and secondly, it will anticipate the appearance of pests on them.

Protecting The Garden From Spring Frosts
They say that nature does not have bad weather. But one can argue with this statement if it presents a surprise in the form of late spring frosts, when buds have already blossomed on the trees in our gardens, or even blooming or even ovaries are in full swing. In order not to blame the weather, you need to take care in advance to protect your garden from such surprises

Protecting The Garden From Frost
Frosts for the garden often become a threat and a daunting problem. Too low temperatures can lead to loss of yield and moral damage to the summer resident. Winter is not always warm and snowy. In some seasons, there is very little rainfall, but the temperature of the soil and air is extremely low. These cases become dangerous for aboveground plants sheltered during the cold season. Many plants are damaged only from above, but sometimes the root system is also damaged
