All gardeners and summer residents care about the beautiful appearance of their site, or rather, about its well-groomed and decorative effect. Naturally, in this matter, the improvement of the beds and flower beds takes one of the first places. If you decorate them poorly, then the beauty of the flowers will not save the full appearance of the garden. Therefore, for neatness and tidiness, it is worth making beautiful fences for flower beds
Materials can be almost anything - wood, brick or stone, as well as other objects. If you wish and spend a little time, it is not difficult to create such attractive elements for your territory.
Wooden fences for flower beds and flower beds
In absolutely any garden, fences for flower beds made of wood will look attractive and harmonious. In general, it is these fences that are most often found in summer cottages. There are a lot of design options for such elements. However, among them there are some of the simplest ways to create a neat and tidy look.
A driftwood fence is created from twisted trees and their components. For example, damaged trunks of irregular shapes can be laid along the edge of the flower bed, thus creating the outline of the future fence. As a result, the first laid out row becomes a kind of edging. Next, the rows must be connected using willow branches. It is necessary to make fences even before the start of planting flowers. Since then it will be much more difficult to carry out such a process. It will not be possible to correct the shape of the driftwood for flowering crops.
A fence made with chocks is more original, but it is more difficult to execute. It requires cutting the bark-free logs and processing the resulting material with antiseptic agents. The diameter of the logs should be the same, or at least approximate in size. The same applies to their height. The lower part of the chocks should be wrapped with roofing material. This will help protect the wood from rotting if moisture enters it. On the sides of the resulting flower bed, it is necessary to dig a trench, the depth of which will be about twenty centimeters. This is where the logs should be fixed, but they should all be placed on the same level. After that, you can pour soil into the trench and tamp it.
Fencing, consisting of ordinary boards, is a standard design for flower beds in gardens and summer cottages. Planks are obtained in two ways - either from wood scraps or from a regular pallet. In the first situation, you should select boards of the same length or cut them yourself. The upper part of the material needs to be sharpened, giving it a triangular shape. The lower parts must be inserted into the ground. In the second case, a prepared wooden pallet is initially disassembled. Further, similar actions are performed as in the first situation. The finished fence can be painted in any shade, but first it is necessary to prime it so that the paint lies smoother and the tone turns out to be more saturated.
Brick fences for flower beds and flower beds
Brick fences for flower beds are not just a beautiful decorative, but also a strong and stable fence. For the manufacture of such fences, you can use different methods of laying the material. Its first type is single-level. In this case, you should prepare the bricks and place them with their edges down along the contour of the future flower bed. First, one row should be laid out like this. The bricks should fit together as tightly as possible. There should be no spaces. It is believed that bricks laid on sand lend themselves best to fixing.
The second masonry option is at an angle. It is more difficult to complete, but as a result, the finished interesting fence will be worth the effort. To do this, you need to dig a ditch with a shallow depth along the outline of the flower bed. About one third of its depth should be covered with coarse sand. In the trench, the bricks must be installed at an inclination in the form of a 45-degree angle. As a result, each brick should look out of the ground surface by about 1/3 of its part. The last stage here is the embankment of the earth into the ditch and tamping. The result is a toothed fence. Such a hedge has a significant advantage in the form of easier outflow of water in case of rains and showers during the summer season. However, not only functionality, but also decorativeness of the element is important. Therefore, it is required to constantly observe the corners of the bricks so that chips do not appear. Some summer residents also paint or whitewash such fences.
