And if in our northern hemisphere from April to September fuchsia continues to form new buds and bloom flowers, then in order to achieve the same effect in winter, you need to know some secrets of caring for this Dominican Tropicana

In room fuchsia of modest size, it is difficult to recognize the spreading evergreen shrubs covered with flowers that grow in the Dominican Republic. But when its twigs begin to wood, it already becomes more like its wild relatives. With due perseverance and patience, the fuchsia bush can be given a standard shape, and it will look like a miniature indoor tree.

Fuchsia has very beautiful flowers of an extremely unusual shape. From a distance, they seem to be miniature ballerinas, fluttering in a dance from twig to twig. This effect is created by long stamen legs, peeking out from under a bundle of petals, gathered by a skirt in a tubular corolla. Fuchsia has many hybrid forms, and it is possible to choose a variety with simple or double flowers, monochromatic or variegated two-color petals of white, pink, crimson, purple, lilac, blue colors and, of course, fuchsia colors.

We send fuchsia for a rest period

Indoor fuchsias in the summer will be comfortable on the balconies. During this period, they can be transplanted into a light nutritious substrate. Also, feeding with an aqueous solution of cow dung will positively affect the development of the plant. From this, flowering becomes more abundant.

By the end of the growing season, the soil moisture under the flower is reduced. With the arrival of October and during November, watering is extremely rare. In winter, a rest period is arranged for fuchsia. The indoor flower is kept in a cool, dry room. Moisten the soil very sparingly, but make sure that the bark on the stems of the plant does not begin to wrinkle.

Spring awakening and rejuvenation of the indoor flower

With the arrival of spring, it is necessary to prune the plant and transplant it into a fresh nutrient substrate. It is prepared from the following components:

• deciduous land - 3 parts;

• peat land - 2 parts;

• sand - 1 part.

During transplantation, the roots are also slightly shortened. Then the updated plant in a new pot is left in a sunny place, for example, on a windowsill, the soil is abundantly moistened and the fuchsia itself is sprayed with water. With this approach to rejuvenating this indoor plant, new shoots on which buds will appear will not be long in coming.

To make fuchsia bloom in autumn or winter, until summer comes, it is left in a less illuminated place, and only in early June the pot is moved to a balcony or to an open-air front garden. In order to keep fuchsia from blooming during the summer, it will have to prune several times.

Reproduction of fuchsia at home

Fuchsia can be propagated by seed, but cuttings are a faster and more convenient way to get a new flowering plant. A green stalk can take root in a week and a half, and immediately after that it can be planted in its own individual pot.

For new young plants, it is best to allocate the most illuminated places in the apartment. These are the characteristics of the window sills of windows facing the east side. For spring cuttings, it will be helpful to transplant the fuchsia into fresh nutrient medium again in the summer.

An important condition for caring for fuchsia is abundant watering. Moisturizing plus feeding with organic fertilizers will ensure abundant flowering. During flowering, you cannot move the pots - because of this, the fuchsia can begin to shed its buds.
