The Raketa variety was bred and registered in the second half of the last century, and almost immediately it gained truly unprecedented popularity, because it is equally well suited for growing in greenhouses (in Siberia or the Urals, for example) and for cultivation in open ground (in warm enough southern regions). And in the southern regions it is quite possible to do without seedlings by planting Raketa tomatoes directly into the open ground! In all other cases, you first have to start growing seedlings.

Such tomatoes are not afraid of low temperatures, and they are extremely rarely attacked by pests, and this variety also boasts a very impressive resistance to all kinds of bacterial and fungal ailments! Summer residents are especially pleased with the impressive resistance of these tomatoes to root and apical rot, and they are also practically not affected by the ill-fated late blight, and if this does happen, then it is not in the summer, but since the beginning of autumn.

Raketa is a mid-season variety, that is, fruit ripening after sowing this crop usually occurs within 110 - 135 days. When planted in open ground, undersized compact bushes of such tomatoes rarely have a height of more than half a meter, however, in some cases, their height can reach sixty-five or even seventy centimeters. As for greenhouses, there this culture is capable of stretching up to a meter in height, and sometimes even more!

The tops of these tomatoes are not too dense, the stalks are strong enough, and the shoots are formed moderately. Inflorescences begin to appear approximately after the fifth leaf, and then after every one or two leaves. Moreover, each brush contains five to six inflorescences.

The yield of tomatoes of the Raketa variety is very high, and on one square meter of area it is very easy to get along with five or six bushes at once, and they do not oppress each other at all! And from this small area it will not be difficult to harvest five to six kilograms! It is especially pleasant that even very difficult weather whims do not affect the yield in any way - and in the most rainy summer it will not be difficult to remove at least one and a half kilograms of tomatoes from each tomato bush! And the fruits of such tomatoes are characterized by a beautiful elongated shape (they are all oblong, with pointed tips), a rich tomato aroma and a very pleasant, slightly sour taste. They ripen evenly, that is, the entire crop can be harvested at once in one go! As for their weight, it usually ranges from eighty to one hundred grams.

Usage

Raketa tomatoes are good both on their own and as part of various dishes - they can be eaten separately, as well as added to soups, salads and side dishes. Such tomatoes are ideal for making adjika, ketchup, pasta or thick and rich aromatic juice. And these spectacular fruits are often used to decorate the festive table, and they are very willing to prepare salads and all kinds of preservation from them - the dense skin of these tomatoes helps them not to crack not only during moisture changes, but also during processing! The flesh of such tomatoes is quite dense, and their juiciness is usually average.
