Problems with growing radish - radish is certainly one of the most common crops in summer cottages. Actually, growing radishes will not be difficult, however, it is for this reason that many gardeners do not pay enough attention to the proper care of radishes. For this reason, many do not get the proper level of harvest. It is very important to properly prepare the soil, select seeds and create the necessary conditions for the radish. We will talk about the proper care of radishes in this article, because only in this way you can avoid the occurrence of a number of problems in the future.

First of all, you should start preparing the soil for the radish. The soil should have neutral acidity, as well as be loose and fertile. The rest of the soil options are not suitable for radishes, because this plant will not be able to get the proper amount of nutrients. Prepare a site for planting in the fall. It is necessary to add humus, peat, phosphate and potash fertilizers to the soil. Organic fertilizers are contraindicated for radishes. Also, this culture cannot be planted in those places where radish or cabbage used to grow.

Manure is also contraindicated for radish, because from such fertilization, active growth of leaves will begin, which will take away nutrients from the root crop itself. The best solution is to plant radishes in places where tomatoes used to grow. Already at the end of May, it is recommended to grow seeds, it is this planting period that contributes to a good harvest. Two centimeters is the required planting depth, and the distance between the rows should be about 8-10 centimeters.

It is not recommended to start growing radishes from seeds when daylight hours exceed twelve hours. Actually at this time it is no longer possible to plant seeds in the ground. Early spring and the second half of summer will be the best time to plant this crop.

The soil should first be watered abundantly, and then seeds are introduced into it. After the first leaves appear on young plants, thinning is necessary. Actually, thinning is not timely and can lead to the fact that a successful harvest will not occur. The distance after thinning should be approximately two centimeters.

Radishes also need regular weeding, loosening and proper watering. Radish is distinguished by a special love for moisture; this crop requires a large amount of moisture. This is especially true for dry weather and very high temperatures. Radishes should be watered twice a day, both in the morning and in the evening. Then you will be guaranteed a good harvest, and the radish will taste very tasty. Due to a lack of water, the root crop may stop forming, and the plant itself may begin to sharply discard its arrows.

If the weather is pretty cool, then the watering should be slightly reduced. And as soon as it gets warm, then the intensity of watering should be sharply increased. On especially hot days, one square meter of planting requires ten liters of water.

As soon as the first leaf appears, special attention should be paid to watering. It will be optimal to water the culture every three hours, so the formation of a good root crop, juicy and very tasty, will turn out.

The length of daylight hours will also be important in the care of the radish. Very long daylight hours can lead to the fact that the vegetable itself is not particularly tasty. Therefore, many gardeners often cover their radish beds in summer with black films. Of course, a great option is to grow radishes either in a greenhouse or in a greenhouse. Indeed, it is in such conditions that the optimal environment for growing radishes is provided. For the vegetable to be very strong and resistant to various diseases, as well as incredibly juicy and tasty, it is very important to slightly germinate the seeds even before they are planted in the ground. All these rules of care are not particularly difficult, but they should be followed in strict order.
