In our troubled age, it sometimes happens that a person spends a lot of energy and nerves to earn money, and then this money is barely enough for medicine to restore the health spent. But medicines are prepared from herbs that sometimes grow under our feet. Do not be lazy, stretch out your hand to them

Chicory

I noticed this plant on the slope of the road at the entrance to the village. On an inconspicuous half-naked stem, delicate flowers of heavenly color looked at me affably. Digging through the books on the shelf, I found a description of medicinal plants, among which was my new stranger.

The plant called "Common Chicory" turned out to be a very extraordinary creation of nature. Delicate blue-eyed flowers appear in this world for only half a day, withering by lunchtime, leaving their strength and love to the seeds. These are probably the most selfless mothers in all of nature. However, the plant does not remain without celestial creatures throughout the summer and even autumn, because every new morning new flowers bloom to decorate the bush and continue the genus of the plant.

For medicinal purposes, the herb and roots of chicory are used. Now is the most opportune moment for collecting grass, July, the most abundant month for flowering. Late autumn is suitable for digging up roots.

The main trump card of chicory is its ability to regulate metabolism in the human body, including lowering blood sugar, being a true friend of people with diabetes. In addition, it will be useful for insomnia, headache, hysteria.

Chicory root tincture

Insomnia, which is a consequence of daytime nervous overstrain, and other problems of the nervous system will help to eliminate tincture from dry roots of chicory. To make it, we need 1 tablespoon of dry chicory roots and 70 percent alcohol in an amount of 200 ml. Fill the roots with alcohol and remove the container in a dark place for two weeks. After extracting the tincture from a secret place, we filter it and begin to treat the nervous system.

To do this, three times a day we drink a quarter of a glass of water, into which we first drip 30-40 drops of tincture. Along the way, we will cure colds, intestinal colic, gout and many other diseases. Indeed, with a well-oiled metabolism in the body, all its organs work clearly and harmoniously, preventing diseases from entering their territory.

Chicory on the table

In addition to making tinctures and infusions from chicory, the plant is a very useful dietary product. Diet salads are prepared from young leaves and stems, from fresh roots.

Stems and leaves for salads are pre-stewed in vegetable oil, and then added to salads from herbs and eggs.

Thoroughly washed and peeled, the fresh root of the plant is finely chopped and, watered with lemon juice, left alone for 20 minutes. While the root is saturated with acid, the carrots, in equal amounts to the root, are grated on a medium grater, and then mixed with the root. If you add to them also rustic sour cream, a pinch of sugar or xylitol (for diabetics) and crushed walnut, then only a very well-fed person will refuse such a delicacy.

Side effects:

No side effects from the use of chicory have been noticed yet.

Today, perhaps, it is difficult to find a dacha where peonies grow. But not everyone who grows it as an ornamental plant knows about the medicinal properties of a peony. Although the very generic name of the peony originates from Greek words, which in translation sound like "healing, healing". But we were not taught Greek at school.

For medicinal purposes, all parts of the plant are suitable, from the rhizome to the seeds. Naturally, the harvesting time is different for different parts: the grass is cut off during flowering, the seeds are ripe, the roots are in the fall.

Peony is used to treat many diseases, but today you and I are interested in all kinds of disorders of the nervous system.

To combat insomnia, neurasthenia and other nervous ailments, a tincture of herbs and rhizomes with roots is prepared, taking them in equal proportions. The plant is insisted on 40 percent alcohol, the amount of which is taken 10 times more than the amount of plant materials.

To obtain the effect of taking the tincture, take it for a month, adding 30-40 drops per quarter glass of water, repeating the procedure 3 times a day.

Side effects:

The plant is considered poisonous, so you should be careful with the dosage and application in general.

Children are strictly prohibited! Their nervous system is best treated with affection and love.
