Features of plant care and growing

It is worth noting that fragrant dichorizandra is a rather unpretentious plant to care for, however, in order for the plant to please with its development, you will need to follow certain growing rules. As for the light regime, this plant should be grown either in the sun or in partial shade. Throughout the summer season, it will be necessary to provide the plant with abundant watering, and the air humidity should be kept at an average level. The life form of fragrant dichosandra is a herbaceous plant.

Under the conditions of growing this plant in indoor conditions, it will be necessary to give preference to the western or eastern windows, however, it is also permissible to grow fragrant dichozandra on the southern windows, however, in this case, it will be necessary to provide the plant with a little shading. Very often the plant is grown as an ampelous plant: hanging baskets or wall pots are used for this. Quite often, the plant also acts as a ground cover plant in flowerpots, where there are numerous plants of a rather large size: for example, ficus and dracaena.

As for the maximum size in culture, if grown in pots, this plant is capable of forming thickets, the height of which can even reach forty centimeters. The shoots of this plant are formed on an underground rhizome, in fact, for this reason, the thickets of fragrant dichozandra very much resemble a small bamboo grove.

It is important to remember that the plant will need an annual transplant or a transplant every two years. It is recommended to use wide, but relatively shallow pots for transplanting the plant. This circumstance is due to the fact that the root system of this plant is rather weak. It is recommended to deepen the rhizome of fragrant dichorizandra by about two to three centimeters into the ground: such measures will help stimulate the formation of taller and stronger shoots of this plant. To grow fragrant dichorizandra, you will need to prepare the following land mixture: one part of sod land and one part of sand, as well as three parts of leafy land. The acidity of such a soil should be slightly acidic.

As for the problems with growing, it is worth noting that the weak root system of this plant can suffer quite a lot from the fact that the soil dries up. It should also be noted that the fragrant dichorizander ages rather quickly and loses all its decorative effect, while the lower part of the stems can also become bare. For this reason, it is recommended to carry out short pruning, which should be done about once every two to three years. Also, the annual pinching of the shoots will also allow the plant to rejuvenate. The risk of damage to the plant by a spider mite increases when the air humidity is below sixty percent.

Throughout the rest period, it is important to maintain the air temperature at around sixteen to twenty degrees Celsius. Watering will be required moderate, and the air humidity should also be medium. In indoor conditions, the period of rest is forced and falls on the period from October to February. The presence of such a dormant period is explained by the fact that during this period the air humidity and temperature are in a reduced mode.
