Kendyr Sarmatian is one of the plants of the family called kutrovye, in Latin the name of this plant will sound like this: Trachonutum sarmatiense Woodson. As for the name of the Sarmatian kendyr family itself, in Latin it will be like this: Apocynaceae Juss.

Description of the Sarmatian kendyr

Kendyr Sarmatian is a perennial herb, the height of which will be about one hundred to one hundred and twenty centimeters. The stem of this plant is straight and branched, it is endowed with reddish-brown bark and will carry branches of the first and second orders. The leaves of this plant will be elliptical, sometimes they can be oblong. The length of such leaves will be about three to four and a half centimeters, and the width will be equal to one and a half to two centimeters. The leaves are blunt and rounded and bare at the base. The inflorescence of the Sarmatian kendyr is a compact panicle consisting of scutes. The inflorescence will most often be few-flowered. The flowers themselves are painted in pink tones, their length is six to eight millimeters, and the width will not exceed one millimeter. Such flowers will be dull: they are painted in purple tones. It is noteworthy that the corolla will be incised by one third, it is endowed with reddish stripes and is densely pubescent. The leaflets will be linear and cylindrical, and their length is ten to eighteen centimeters, while the width will not exceed half a centimeter. The seeds of the Sarmatian kendyr are very small, they are colored in brown tones, and their length is two millimeters.

The flowering of the Sarmatian kendyr falls on the period from June to August. Under natural conditions, this plant will be found in the south of the European part of Russia, in the Crimea, in the Caucasus, as well as in the Black Sea zone of Ukraine. For growth, the plant prefers alkaline sands, plains, tugai, river valleys and swampy meadows. It should be noted that this plant is an insecticide.

Actually, this plant is endowed with a rather small area, in Russia most often the Sarmatian kendyr is found exclusively in the Nizhny Novgorod region and Chuvashia. It should be noted that the plant most often prefers limestone slopes for growth, in addition, the plant is found in river valleys and in saline places. It is noteworthy that from the stems of this plant, it is allowed to obtain a long, strong fiber, from which coarse fabrics can be made. The leaves of the Sarmatian kendyr will contain rubber, but this plant has no particular industrial value.

Description of the medicinal properties of the Sarmatian kendyr

Kendyr Sarmatian is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while the roots and rhizomes of this plant should be used for medicinal purposes. The presence of such valuable medicinal properties is explained by the content of the following cardenolides in the plant: apocannosides, cymarine, apobioside and K-strophanthin-beta.

It is noteworthy that the roots and rhizomes of this plant are used as raw materials for the production of a drug that will be endowed with a cardiotonic effect. The stems of the Sarmatian kendyr can be used to obtain fiber.

As an insecticide intended for shampooing, you should use the following remedy based on the Sarmatian kendyr: to prepare such a remedy, you will need to take five to six tablespoons of chopped grass of this plant per liter of boiling water. The resulting mixture based on this plant should be infused for one or two hours, after which this mixture is filtered very thoroughly.
