What is needed for a chrysanthemum transplant

In the process of transplanting perennials, they are simultaneously engaged in the division and reproduction of overgrown bushes of violets, feathery carnations, chrysanthemums.
A planting hole for a split chrysanthemum bush is made deep and wide - about 35-40 cm in diameter and about 20 cm deep. A little sand is poured at the bottom of the planting pit for the chrysanthemum. A chrysanthemum with an earthen lump is placed on top, spreading out long peeping roots. Green young shoots at the roots can be left, and long branches are cut with a sharp pruner, leaving 5-7 cm above the soil level. First, the roots are sprinkled with earth, compacting the soil above them with your hands. When the protruding roots hide underground, and the old earthen lump still continues to protrude, representing a small island in the planting pit, watering the flower needs to be done in the formed moat. After that, the wet earth is poured dry from above - this must be done to prevent the appearance of a hard crust. For the winter, the transplanted flower is covered with fallen leaves.
Features of planting a pinnate carnation
For carnations, choose a sunny site. In such a place, the plant not only develops better, but also has a more pronounced aroma. In addition, pinnate cloves do not tolerate waterlogging, stagnant water, so it is recommended to arrange a drainage layer.
The planting hole is dug according to the size of the root system of the flower. Carnation loves highly fertile soil. If your site does not differ in such indicators, the soil must be fertilized with organic matter or covered with a special nutrient mixture for flowers. During planting, the root collar is hidden a little below ground level - approximately 1 cm. After that, the flower is watered.
Gelenium is not a hassle in the fall
Gelenium also hibernates in the ground. After flowering, the stem dies off, so you can cut it off without regret. During the winter, the rhizome in the soil also dies off, but dormant wintering buds remain on it. A new plant will grow from these buds next year.
For a year of such new shoots with their own roots formed, a whole rosette is formed around the dying stem. And by dividing it into individual plants, it is completely easy to propagate helenium in your garden. Planted in spring, by summer and autumn, they will bloom in lush color. And then this whole procedure is repeated again.
Low-growing perennials for flower beds and ridges
Low-growing border and carpet flowers, which are among the first to decorate our gardens with their blossoming buds in spring, are propagated using apical cuttings.
