The flowering of the stranger thigh occurs in the period from June to July. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the Crimea, Central Asia and the Caucasus. The stranger thigh grows along ravines, in irrigated meadows, among thickets of bushes, along roads, and also at an altitude of up to two thousand meters above sea level.

When coughing, inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, as well as bronchial asthma, the following remedy should be used: take one tablespoon of dry crushed rhizomes and roots for two hundred milliliters of boiling water, this mixture should be infused for four to six hours, after which the mixture must be filtered. Such a remedy should be taken one fourth of a glass four times a day before meals. As for sore throat, stomatitis and gingivitis, then it is permissible to use such a remedy for rinsing the throat.
In case of gastrointestinal diseases, ascites and kidney stones, it is recommended to take the following remedy: two tablespoons of dry crushed rhizomes together with the roots must be infused for eight hours in one glass of boiled water, after which it is recommended to strain the resulting mixture. Such a remedy should be taken two tablespoons four times a day.
