Pink grapefruit (lat. Citrus paradisi) - a fruit crop representing the Rutovye family.

Description

The history of the appearance of pink grapefruit is still unknown and even shrouded in some mystery. Scientists speculate that this incredibly tasty fruit was the result of either a pomelo bud mutation or a cross between a pomelo and an orange.

The pink grapefruit boasts a bright yellow skin and incredibly juicy reddish flesh. As for their sweetness, it is somewhere in the middle between the sweetness of white and red grapefruit. And the diameter of these fruits ranges from ten to twenty centimeters (although sometimes there are record large fruits up to forty centimeters in diameter).

One of the most popular varieties of pink grapefruit is "Flame" - this variety was bred in 1987. The skin of such fruits is very smooth and colored in pleasant yellowish-reddish tones, and the sweet red pulp is completely devoid of bitterness.
