Description of the eastern highlander

The eastern highlander is an annual plant endowed with an erect and branched stem. It is noteworthy that the height of such a stem can reach one or even two and a half meters. The leaves of this plant will be short-petiolate and oval, it is noteworthy that less often they can be broad-lanceolate and rounded. Such leaves will gradually taper towards the ends into pointed ones. The flowers of this plant are in the ears at the very ends of the branches. The flowers of the Eastern Highlander are painted in pink, white and bright red tones, which will be relatively large in size. The fruits of this plant are shiny and round nuts.

The flowering of this plant occurs in the period from June to September. Under natural conditions, the eastern highlander can be found in Central Asia, in Primorye in the Far East, as well as in the Volga-Don and Black Sea regions of the European part of Russia and in the Crimea. This plant is also found in the following regions of Ukraine: Dnieper and Prichernomorsky. In gardens, this plant is grown as an ornamental plant, and it also grows in weedy places.

Description of the medicinal properties of the eastern mountaineer

The eastern highlander is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while the fruits, flowers, leaves, roots and grass of this plant should be used for medicinal purposes. The concept of grass includes flowers, leaves and stems of the Eastern Highlander. The roots of such a plant will contain tannins, flavonoids and steroids. In the grass of the eastern mountaineer, there are the following phenol carboxylic acids: gallic, caffeic and chlorogenic. In addition, flavonoids are also found in the herb of this plant: namely, orientin, orientosid and isoorientin. The flowers of the eastern mountaineer contain alkaloids and steroids.

It should be noted that the herbs of this plant are quite good both as a tonic and wound healing agent. The fruits, flowers, roots and leaves of the Eastern Highlander have been widely used in Chinese medicine: here this remedy is used as a fairly effective antiseptic, which is used for various eye diseases.

Such a remedy is also effective: for its preparation, you will need to take one teaspoon of crushed dry roots of the eastern mountaineer per one glass of water. The resulting mixture should be boiled for about four to five minutes, and then left to infuse for an hour and drain thoroughly. As a tonic, such a decoction is taken one third of a glass three times a day before meals. It is noteworthy that a stronger decoction can be used to wash wounds, and also be used topically and as tampons.

For eye rinsing with conjunctivitis, it is recommended to use the following remedy, which has proven to be effective. To prepare it, you will need to take one teaspoon of Eastern Highlander flowers for about one glass of boiling water. This mixture is infused for about thirty to forty minutes, and then filtered thoroughly.

It is noteworthy that this annual plant is able to endure a very significant drop in temperature. Due to its rather valuable decorative properties, many gardeners also prefer this plant. In total, there are about three hundred different plants in this genus. It should be noted that the medicinal properties of the eastern mountaineer have not yet been fully studied.
